KHAR: Following the death of 29 militants, including a top militant commander, security officials have announced the end of an operation in the Batwar area of Salarzai in Bajaur Agency.

The operation was started in response to a militant attack originating from the Kunar province of Afghanistan on August 25, where militants took locals as hostage.

Security forces launched the operation in the area with the help of Salarzai peace militia, using heavy artillery and gunships against the militants.

Thousands of locals migrated from the area and took shelter in state-run schools and hospitals as the operation raged on.
The militants fought for more than 10 days, kidnapped some security personnel and killed them, but subsequently evacuated the area.

Following their pullout, the troops entered the area to start de-mining since there is a substantial risk of stray improvised explosive devices (IEDs).

The FATA disaster management authority and other non-government organizations, meanwhile, made camps for the displaced people and provided food and shelter.

The political administration in Bajaur, meanwhile, has organised the local peace militia to fight against the militants, in case they strike again.

The displaced people can return to their homes after security forces declare them clear, said a political administration official in Bajaur.

This should be highlighted on TV.Pakistani People must understand that Pakistan Armed Forces are shedding so much blood to ensure that common people can sleep peacefully at night.Pakistan Army Zindabad!

why media don't focus on scarifies that PAk fauj is doing for peace. just criticizing PAk Fauj on incidents like Minhas and kamra, sell out media.

Can't do that, we will immediately get 'threats' from karzai

Karzai can't do anything, Afghanistan has something resembling a rag-tag militia rather than an army; FC alone could probably hold off an invasion and even take some territory along the border-areas.

It is only now that PA has given space to polity. It is hard to develop accountability in politicians when they have not had to do this in 65 years because of the Army. A trendline that long takes long to change.
It doesn't have to take that long. It would be a lot quicker if the Army swore allegiance to the civilian leadership AND the Constitution; but the Army swears loyalty to the State and Constitution alone. It communes directly to serve State interests and elected officials and ministers are merely a form of protective coloration.

Hi,

See---the problem with the civilians is that in this relay race they cannot take the baton from military and move forward----that is what sane and intelligent nations have done---. But to the contrary---pakistani politicians have always destroyed what was started by the previous regimes---either political or military---and started back from point zero---.

When the men and the women of the nation cannot understand the simple comprehension of the loss suffered every time there is a change in govt----that nation can never move forward. Rather it keeps sinking deeper in the muck.

Until and unless there are no executions of the politicians at a massive scale---pakistan is going to stay as a lost nation---.

This country---truly and really needs to face destruction and death---there has to be either a civil war---or there has to be a ruthless dictator that needs to execute thousands and thousands and then build up from that point onwards---the side that loses needs to be eradicated or falls in line with the rest---.
