I don't know if you about the upgrade program running on IAF's Jaguar Aircraft. It's known as DARIN III and the upgrades have made it quite a potent platform.

Jaguar = 0.2/0.6 Don't quite agree with the low AtoA ranking for IAF Jags, all of which are being upgraded to Darin III with features like Multi-Mode Radars.

Could you re-calculate the rating of Jags in this regard and update the list accordingly? Many Thanks again for your efforts.

I'm afraid you are gravely mistaken, and grossly overestimating your capabilities. Take a look at your aircraft inventory - all of them are hideously outdated for the modern age, not to mention the fact that spares have not been available for most of them since the revolution, which means their actual combat capability is a big question. (Ironically, Iran used to get spares for their American fighters from their sworn enemy Israel, during the iran-Iraq war; And IrAF helped Israel with reconnoisance of the Iraqi nuclear facility which Israel then bombed.)

Nobody in that region flies jets like F-14s anymore, they all fly the much newer f-15s and 16s, and soon 35s and Eurofighters. The IrAF is two generations behind. I really don't see how you call it "one of the great air force powers in the world" - almost every country in the world has better equipment.

The mig-29s are the only somewhat modern fighters you have, and not in any large number.

Besides, Israel and Saudi have things like AEWACs, which increase their lethality severalfold. The IrAF needs to catch up, or at least field a somewhat capable force. At the moment, they are simply outclassed and outmatched, and won't stand a chance in aerial combat with any major air force in that region - don't let your wishful thinking blind you to that reality.

HAL(the agency responsible for the upgrades) typically rolls out 12-14 such modified Jags per year. I guess, only around 15 Jags may have been upgraded by now. But more than half of the fleet had already upgraded to DARIN II standards by March last year.
