Since the founding of the P. R. China in 1949, 14 national day military parades have been held in the Tiananmen Square in Beijing. Weapons and equipment are an important part of the parades.

Personally I was conscript into Army and transferred to the Air force of Singapore Arm Forces.

I sustained injury and now I am not so young, it comes out. I got back pain and knee pain. I have served my country.

Excuse me, but I don't understand. I thought that only infantry accepts conscripts.
I personally have no military record. I am overweighted and have bad eyesight. But if there is mobilization, I am ready to sign up.

The elite Singaporeans are even conscript into intelligence unit.

How long exactly a conscript serve the Singaporean force before he/she can leave?
In VN, conscripts get to serve 24 months so they are mostly infantry. Those who perform well can get in the force as regular. I don't know about the navy but VPAir force has some seriously hard physical and psychological tests on those who apply for a pilot or engineer position.

The Israeli help build our army but our elites sucks compared to Israeli and have no noble oblige. The Israeli elites set examples by serving 5 years in the army (most elites end up as officers) while soldiers serve 3 years.

And in Israel, those who are good can get promoted. In Singapore, you become officers if you are good in studies (your family is rich and can give you a lot of tuition class before 18 years old).

The salary for our military is good, very very good, to the point that the people resented them as parasite.

I understand how you feel. VNese army too has problems with the elite. They get promotions too much that now, we have too many generals yet not enough soldiers for them to lead (VN has around 400,000 regulars). Back then when we were at war with US, Cam or China, reaching the captain rank was a big deal, and required a huge amount of military achievements as well as a clean history. Now, in peace time, with enough money and relationship, they can be promoted to general rank in no time.
