It is hardly amusing. What it reveals is the degree of moral decay that had set in Nixon administration. Nixon was not worried that a uniformed army was engaged in an orgy of genocide. He was worried that the PA had failed to do it secretly.

exactly, u just conformed that the Soviet fleet did not encounter the US fleet

this also proves that Soviets had very little in the way of a surface fleet

and lastly that US was in the war zone prior to Soviets, so u just contradicted ur first post

Lets assume US thought the way you did.Then US goes ahead with landing and then finding themselves engulfed on one side with indian army and on other side with entire indian navy plus soviet submarines. Unlike pakistan army other world armies dont get in to war without thinking how enemy will come back at you.

Well In the end we could say Pakistan got a few laughs for 1971 when the USSR collapsed and Russia lost alot of land, it's economy, and Military, and population were lost.

Who is laughing now? Pakistan? or their ally in the Soviet Afghan mess, i.e. USA?

Atleast they supported in the time of need! They were not as useless as US or China for Pakistan. I see many Pakistanis are happy with China's military might and they are dreaming that China will come to its rescue with all out war... But why should China make that stupid move to please their less capable all-weathered friend.

China did not come to this place by some luck... They reached this point with very hard work, Will they spoil all this and forget their dreams of super-power just to help the very unstable friend? I sincerely doubt that!

we dont need china to help us in a war, that just a little fantasy dream you indians have. they are simply just supplying us get it? supplying us, we dont have any war pact with them, and you indians need to get this in your head. You should think carefully before "missing" the soviet union, another cold war would start which would make the world population live in fear because of nuclear annihilation. And Germany would not has progressed like this if they still were divided
