Which planes are used and what was the accuracy, report immediately...

I want to know if FC1 is been used...

Yes, JF17 has done bombing runs in FATAville. But most of the strikes have been carried out by F16's, Mirage V and F7's. The F7 is not equipped with a targeting pod, thus it is usually escorted by an F16 or a Mirage V which paint the target and the F7 drops its load.

Why would any innocents be present in caves or similar hideouts. !!

All the report says is four "hideouts" were attacked. These could be houses or caves. And even then, how do we know the militants were not traveling with families? We need to be sure our own armed forces are not killing our own innocent civilians.

Air strike without civilian casualties. PAF is very efficient.

'paint' 'target' 'drops load' :D

9999 Bazillion people in Khi and Quetta die. And we take our little revenge, hilarious

Suggesting a fence on border... hmm how many guards would be required to guard a fence... eventually it will end up in scrap market..

Fencing border is not easy as it we are making it We will need to monitor it petrol's it, and they will be sitting ducks between militants coming from Afg to Pak and vice versa and biggest issue is we dont have money

Its hard to fence the border with Afghanistan. Its 2,640 km long and moreover, there are a lot of mountain ranges which is sort of an escape route.

No it is feasible.

You fence the border and you mine it.

You patrol the hotspots where militants are known to cross over, I am sure PA have data on this.

You will not need as much manpower, but to keep the peace I would rather have thousands of troops patrolling our borders than fighting in the villages.

The mountain ranges you speak of, chances are if you cannot fence those areas, it would be difficult for militants to cross over from there because of the rough terrain.

How does that sound?

Do you know how much it costs to get f16s airborne and drop sorties?

Ofcourse we have the money.

Like I said in my post above, I would rather have my troops busy patrolling the borders and dealing with skirmishes with militants there than in the villages where there is a chance of civilians dieing in the crossfire.

First wali ur Rahman killed in a drone attack now jets bombardment, a bad bad week for ttp.

Good news but nothing will happen until the Pak-Afghan border is sealed. It is much needed i don't know why every govt just doesn't wanna do it.

I have been calling for this for years.

Fence the border with Afghanistan. Mine and patrol the hotspots where militants are known to cross over.

It is hard to feel sorry for these extremists who continue to wreak havoc upon the nation. We applaud the Pakistan forces for sending a stern message to these extremist organizations. We are working hard on both sides of the border to negate the threat of terrorism. We hope to build on our improving relationship and remain unified against those who are working against our peace efforts.

The question about building a fence also comes up from time to time. This is what Richard Hoagland, Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Islamabad, said last year: “Pakistan is a neighbor and a brother of Afghanistan. There is no way, ever, to separate the two. You cannot build a fence along the entire border and say no one will ever cross it. I have no doubt that Pakistan wants a stable, friendly and eventually prosperous Afghanistan. And I know from what officials have said, whether it is military … or civilian … that is where Pakistan is looking for the future.”

How are we sure that all 17 were indeed militants and that we did not kill any innocents as "collateral damage"?

Because the Pakistan Army is very.....very conscious of collateral damage & doesn't bomb anything till their eyes on the ground have cleared the area of any Civilian presence or so I'm told by our more 'in the loop' PDFefers !

I'm sure @Icarus & @Xeric can shed more light on this !
