Two Questions...............

Hypothetically, would USA allow Pakistan to purchase older F-16s if Turkey offers it to Pakistan.

Hypothetically, would USA allow Pakistan to purchase older F-16s if Isreal (directly or through 3rd party) offers it to Pakistan.

Yes both options could be pursued if they become available.

Quick question - I believe US is asking Pakistan to pay for F-16 instead of giving it for free...If Pakistan wants to buy F-16 then why not directly from US...is cost benefit too great here or am I missing something?

cost benefit is not good for newer f-16s without newer advance weapons or upgraded system.

To an extent, but if the IAF comes in full force(provided they can sort their lack of pilots out) there is no optimistic scenario for the PAF.

Can't we just divorce F-16 now?

Can't we just divorce F-16 now?

The Turkish folks are working on re-hauling older F-16s with indigenous AESA, ASELPOD etc. If that's done it might not be a bad proposition...

OK Brother but that only makes them good for show off what about kill switches? During war time your jets will stop in mid air or your missile will never hit the target even though everything will look ok at MFD's, Satellite communication combined with hidden softwares inside those COTS which you are not allowed to open is it a difficult puzzle to solve ?

Sir,

Neither it is a myth nor a propaganda---. It is the U S homeland security's requirement that every aircraft manufactured in the U S after 2007 has to have a ' disabling ' switch---any commercial aircraft flying in the U S or flying into the U S have to have ' kill ' switches---regardless of what nation they belong to.

All foreign aircraft for sale in the U S have to have a disabling switch since 2007.

Hi,

The only time the kill switch be used would be at times of sanctions---.

U S will not use the authority if there is a war between pakistan and india---.

No U S weapons producer would let its aircraft be shot down by the indians---.

They are all waiting to see a conflict between pakistan and india---so they can analyze how the F 16---its EW suite and its weapons & missiles fly against the indian equipment---.

So---rest assured---war with india---is a spectator war---everyone wants to know how his stuff did---even the swedes and the swiss---the french and the russians as well and the israelis as well.

The infrastructure to overhaul the aircraft already exists. Buy them for peanuts then overhaul/upgrade them.
An excellent aircraft for a few pence.

I hope Turkish folks know the old systems well. Off course I have no other clue. Anyway these may be all reasons they want to roam heaven and earth to have their own bird - TFX - like Paks...
