Talking of terrain and Change in Strategy etc, I noticed this rock was in direct line from the cameraman and the location of blast that hit military/FC? vehicle.
I know it's not possible to look at every rock in an area that's has rocks everywhere, but something may have stood out as odd about placement of this particular rock.
Point is, our personnel need to be trained to have a curious eye on surroundings. Long time back these criminals released a footage where many Pak military trucks were blasted as they crossed over culverts. There was a pattern that continued over many years. A keen mind could have put two plus two together to see a pattern.
Identify the patterns. My kid was taught to identify patterns as early as in KG. Credit card companies detect fraud by ID'ing patterns, and see if some transaction is outside of patterns.
So ID both, the patterns being followed and the patterns NOT being followed.
So, this rock may be just a random rock,,,, or a deliberately placed rock to to help with targeting. Those who have access to more footages must see if it's a pattern.

Another possible pattern. Attack may start when maximum soldiers are exposed and in sight.
So instead of letting out, say,
3 soldiers/helpers out and exposed simultaneously, plan to have one person do the chores where he's exposed in open, while others keep a keen watch.
The heck our
Rasool Allah told us this approach 1400+ years ago that in a war zone don't offer prayer simultaneously.
Take turns.
This snap is just before these 3 personnel came under fire -
in addition, they were in poor state of preparedness, if want to have early morning routines, take turns:

Also I wrote elsewhere about having some cheap motion detection placed at suitable distances.
Just hire few engineering interns to develop one.
