One killed, three injured in attack on Iranian bus in east Turkey

At least one person has been killed and three others wounded in an attack by unidentified gunmen on an Iranian bus travelling in eastern Turkey.

Iran’s official news agency IRNA quoted Hossein Qassemi, the Iranian consul general in the city of Erzurum, as saying that one person died after succumbing to the wounds he had received to his head. Qassemi said the identity and nationality of the victim “is not known yet,” adding that all other passengers are in good condition.

The report said Iran's Consulate in Erzurum is investigating the issue, adding that no group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.

However, Turkey’s official Anadolu news agency attributed the assault to Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) militants, saying an Iranian national and a Turkish sergeant had died following a shooting at an Iranian bus travelling in the highway linking Dogubayazit in Agri Province to Caldiran in Van Province.

The attack was carried out at about 11:30 a.m. local time (0830 GMT) in the Somkaya area near the village of Cetenli, Anadolu said, adding that PKK militants blocked the highway by setting fire to three 18-wheelers and two trucks. That was followed by a shooting attack on a passing Iranian bus, according to the Turkish news agency's account, where one person was killed and three others were injured.

ه گزارش خبرنگار گروه سیاست خارجی خبرگزاری فارس، امروز در حمله و تیراندازی افراد ناشناس به یک اتوبوس مسافربری ایرانی در خاک ترکیه در جاده «دوغوبایزید» به «وان» یک نفر کشته و 4 نفر دیگر زخمی شدند.

براساس این گزارش، مقارن ساعت 11:30 به وقت محلی آنکارا نظامیان پ.‌ک‌.ک اقدام به مسدود کردن راه‌ مواصلاتی استان آکری واقع در شرق ترکیه کرده که در این درگیری یک سرباز ترک کشته شده و بر اثر تیراندازی به اتوبوس ایرانی یک شهروند ایرانی (کمک راننده) کشته و 4 نفر دیگر زخمی شده‌اند.

علیرضا بیکدلی سفیر ایران در ترکیه در این باره عنوان کرد: اتوبوس و مسافران آن به شهر وان منتقل و هموطن مجروح تحت مداواست. در این حمله دو کامیون ترکیه به آتش کشیده شده است. این روزها اتفاقات مشابه در مناطق شزقی و جنوبی ترکیه بطور مکرر گزارش می شود. مراقب باشید.

Pjak claims to have killed 20 iranian soldiers, the iranian government denies this. Terror organizations like Pjak often exagerate the effect of their attacks to gain support so we dont know 100% if the attack caused 20 casualties maybe the attack didnt happen . I am not going to search online for proof, the iranian government already countered pjak claims.

According to information given to BBC Persian the attack occured but no iranian soldiers were killed.

Here it says that 2 pjak militants were killed by a turkish airstrike against pkk targets, i never said that Turkey directly attacked pjak i said that some of their militants were terminated in airstrikes which is what actually happend thus my claims are not baseless.
