Discussions on the peace pipeline contract are underway
The draft contract of the peace pipeline is being discussed by Iran and Pakistan in Islamabad, Oil Ministry's special envoy announces.
An official with the National Iranian Oil Company, Hojjatollah Ghanimifard, hoped that the draft contract for the construction of the Iran-Pakistan-India pipeline dubbed the "Peace Pipeline" would be finalized at the 3-day negotiations currently underway in Islamabad.
It is expected that the two sides will reach agreement on some of the pending articles of contract, the official said.
The visiting Iranian delegation is headed by the managing director of the National Iranian Gas Export Company, Hossein Nawab.
The 2,570-km pipeline is projected to carry 60 million cubic meters of gas per day to India via Pakistan at the initial stage.
