Myanmar first country to purchase JF-17 Thunder from Pakistan

What a strange question. It would be around the same budget as the JF-17. The only advantage from this is quantity over quality. Plus I'm sure favourable financing deals and the odd kickback was offered. Actually the MiG was extensively studied and I'm still hopeful it is still in the pipeline.
Someone correct me if i'm wrong but the JF-17 Block 2 is roughly about $24-25m a piece.

The Russians have placed no order as yet, it is an active program at the moment but one without buyers.
The Russians were going to buy 37 pieces but delayed it till 2016 due to budget cuts.

Yaar agar kuch kaam karey to mirchey shayed lagey. After thirty years you have inducted the first fighter and by the claims of your own media it is not battle worthy. Iam not saying anything more.
On the bright side I have defended your strategy in other posts as unlike you I dont see much in this cheat thumping game. So chotay bhai read some of my posts on the matter before you wag your tongue again.
Bhai, kool down. Read the name of the thread again.

Defended my post? which one?

You mean Bangladesh. I think after all the drama Hasina did on Modi's visit we can care less.

1.BD is a self-reliant nation with a booming economy and a strong professional mily ( Eleven army Divs in the standing army). We need to start from this basic fact. Whether it is India or Pakistan, or China or USA, our basics and geographical position makes us in-ignorable. The current govt being pro-India does not alter our basics and ideology as a nation of Bengalis and Muslims.

2. In the neighborhood we should try and get closest to Indonesia. Look at the map and you will know why. Look at the maps of economy and trade and you will be convinced.

Oh don't get me wrong, we would love to have good relations with Bangladesh, or any other country for that matter, but if we are expected to keep taking insults and beg for it then no, it's not worth it, not even close. Our doors and hearts are always open but the one riding the high horse would now need to come down and reciprocate.

Wish all the best to Bangladesh in this endeavour.

There in lies the great tragedy.... BD does not need Pakistan for anything what so ever and vice versa...... However two Muslim wings of the sub-continent standing aloof from one another are both weaker as a result

Hope one day both would understand this and not find false strength in standing with the one who greatly benefits from this aloofness and insulting and disparaging the other wing but rather will understand that the true strength will come from backing each other.

Answers :

#1. Wrong, It has Already Inducted in Most numbers ( Over 550+ ).
#2. Wrong Again, You are Already Flying J7s , Which is NOT a LIGHTWEIGH FIGHTHER. YOU DO NEED IT ( For : The role of the J-7 in the People's Liberation Army is to provide local air defence )

J-7 belongs to the 70s to 90s doctrine. PLAAF already entering the 21st century 3G arm forces. We do not need light weight fighter. J-7 are just waiting to be slowly phase out. It is still in service does not mean ,our current doctrine will need J-7. J-10 is J-7 replacement and PLAAF will concentrate on medium and heavy weight fighter/attacker.

Pakistan is actually doing fine in its own way too. Don't base your opinion on what your fed by biased media but do your own research and you will see that at the end of the day it's the global trade, strategic issues and overall the money that does the talking. For its size, economy and a boatload of problems to go with it, Pakistan is still going up, its still an important China-connected country and yes, I agree, not developing as fast as India but look at the size of India and its economy; hardly suitable for comparison. This deal with Myanmar, if true and negotiated by Pakistan then its a big win for Pakistan and its JF-17 programme. No doubt Chengdu will get a cut too.
i am not anti any thing my grand parents are born in pakistan in kashmir. i am studying defensive studies at kings college i have to be both sided thats what I'm taught. and if you read that post again. its neutral not pro-india. sorry if i did offend you. no hard feelings.

Blood is thicker than water. In the event of an emergency both will automatically/inevitably come close to cooperate.

Having read again what I wrote I realized it is a bit harsh sounding indeed. Please accept my apology.

Doubt that. In fact this act will further isolate Pakistan from the neighborhood.

The other side effect, my Bangladeshi friend, of this money making sale is that these jets will be pitched against the Bangladesh Airforce and that will annoy them as the JF17 is far superior to everything that Bangladesh has currently in her inventory or planned acquisitions. Given the state of Bangladesh/Pakistan relations, this is a real "finger" in the Hasina Govt eye moment for them.

Pakistan must be having a particularly poor lot in foreign policy planning. Afghanistan is hostile. Iran is unfriendly. The Saudis feel betrayed. India is of course the enemy. Almost deliberately Pakistan has refused to appreciate BD's difficulties so that she is loosing friends there. And no Muslim country will appreciate the sale of JF-17s to Burma.
I don't know why Bangladeshi fellows are making a fuss about nothing. It's not like JF-17 wasn't up for Sale to BAF, BAF could've bought JF17, I am sure there was no restrictions on such a deal happening. All of you are taking this sale as wrt to a country selling some product to another country where as i think it should be more looked as a business deal because it's a joint venture of PAC and CAC and whose product is JF17 whose sales to any country are welcome (unless they don't pose a direct threat to Countries of the involved Companies itself -Pak and China) So it should not be taken as a move of hostility towards Bangladesh but merely as a business deal which is good for JF17 project to grow. It's your government foreign policy who have not utilized this option because JF-17 surely going to be the best option for its category when
block 3 comes and which going to bring a whole set of great capabilities like AESA, IFR, ECM and whole variety of weapons with no strings attached at the fraction of cost!

We need not to care what these BD's people have to say or think, they are not relevant to us by any means and with recent statements coming from BD I think it is very good, we don't care about UMMAH thing which has never helped us. Now is the time to stand up on our on feet and lead.

2. Pak and Chinese planners would know that our eleven plus Divs can tie down entire IA in a worst scenario.
3. BAF had rejected JF-17 long ago. Our F-7 BG is more suited for us in the interim till we get something better. 4. MAF getting JF-17 doesn't worry us at all. My contentions are expressed from a Rohingya perspective. These aircraft will be used against these unfortunate people. The Burmese junta are the most cruel and genocidal that contemporary history has witnessed.
