A military deal between Burma and Pakistan is raising eyebrows among the Rohingya community. Under the deal, Burma will buy sixteen JF-17 from Pakistan in the first phase.

According to Pakistani media, talks started in March.

Many pro Rohingya activists are bewildered by the deal as in the months of May and June, the Pakistani government seemed to be the most vocal defender of Rohingya human rights in the Muslim world.

The deal is likely to sadden many Pakistanis, thousands of whom protested in May and June against the Burmese regime. Pakistani immigrant communities in the west also organised demonstrations in favour of Rohingya Muslims.

The purchase of fighter jets is likely an attempt by Burma to gain parity with neighbouring Bangladesh.

We must sell more JF-17s to isolate Hasina's corrupt Bengali Govt. :woot:

Real politik.

which verson they buying, block-1 or block-2?..................:raise:

50 - 60 million earning wont hurts us....we just gave 1 billion aid to Nepal :D

Myanmar is second country...first country was Pakistan....since the real owner is China :D
Child we also sold 20 SMs to Iraq for over 200 million $.

Even BLK-I costs around 25 million... And hold 58% rights over it.. Apart from that they will surely ask for Spares,Services and training .. Even that Costs a lot...

P.S: If they bought BLK II that would cost around 30-35 million a pop !

:pop:

(with all respects to jf-17) F7 BGI is faster (mach2.2 VS mach1.6), has same weapons load (3000kg)easy maintenance,f7's radar is junk but we have ground based AESA radars to help, finally and most importantly it's CHEAP there won't be any significant problem if we buy sukhois bit later :)

Doubt that. In fact this act will further isolate Pakistan from the neighborhood.

Hoe do ? Afghanistan? Nope
Sri Lanka ? Nope
Nepal ? Lol nope
Iran ? Nope
China? Lol nope

india and bangladesh? One and the same thing...

But who cares .. Azerbaijan or even Turkey or even Turkmanistan or Tajikistan are much closer to us both geolgtaphically and relationship, history wise than say bangladesh or even nepal.

Hi,

And all of the Muslim world was shocked to see Haseena's first statement on Rohingya issue. The pRime minster represented the offical stance of Bangladesh on the refugee issue

And here I see you have the audacity to teach us ?

KSA is taking care of Ummah very well through its proxies in Syria and Iran and its own airforce over Yemen
Indians trying the emotional blackmail here lol
i don't like the saudis they are killing innocent people whilst blaming Iran for backing rebels while saudi arabia is backing rebels/ terrorist including isis to over throw 2 countries both allies of Iran. this is to drag Iran in to the conflict as well. israel is also supporting the saudis on there mission to restrain iran as much as possible. also Pakistan did a good thing by not going in to yemen as that is what saudi arabia Israel and india wants and possibly nato.

Only a Bengali Rohingya monkey would say that qualitively and quantitively superior airforce is trying to gain parity.

Has Burma officially confirmed this purchase?

Listen douchebag, BD has THREE times the economy of Myanmar.

Unlike your rag-tag of a nation, BD is focused on feeding it's people before buying weapons.

Once BD has managed to feed all it's people with 3 square meals a day(will happen within next 10 years), then BD will
open up it's purse strings and create a military MUCH more powerful than Myanmar can ever hope for.

BAF only has 45 combat aircraft excluding current crashes. i say iaf will have the best of you in about 48 hours max, you don't stand a chance 37 f-7's and 8 mig 29's the iaf pilots must be drunk for you to stand a chance. saying something is easy but actually doing it is a lot harder.

Why war with India? We have good relation with them on first place. And we are defensive force. We cant compete with Indian air superiority so we are empathizing on ground and sea based protection. All our air will be soon protected by different types of SAM system. To invade Myanmar we are getting some Russian MRCAs.

We must sell more JF-17s to isolate Hasina's corrupt Bengali Govt. :woot:

Real politik.

A Pakistani logic

First make sure Rohingyas call themselves Bengali.

Burma is quiet.Looks like they do not want to say it out loud.I don't know if their local media has picked up this issue.
No denying either.Either they are not that active to counter it.Or is that a case that they are not that excited/ proud of what they aim to purchase o_O ?
Or are they sensitive about it and hence want to keep it all under covers?
But it's in Asia so, one can be optimistic about it.:D

My only reason for asking for confirmation is so that I can publicly admit about how I was wrong about export success for the JF-17. :D

there are keeping quiet and will not say any thing , they never to announce it . the only time you know when they have some thing is by either satellite imagery or by images of the aircraft

so you are going to invade Myanmar now are you ? good luck with that and tell me how that goes . firstly you can't afford advanced Russian jets. even Myanmar can't . that's why they choose the jf-17 so they have a good quality mig 29 and jf 17 and low end jets/ multi role j-f's and jf 17's. the jf17 is supposed to compete with the mig 29 but the mig is more capable in terms of payload, speed, range this is due to it large size. and possibly it agility, not sure about that last on. also i would suggest saving up to buy a lot as thats when you get a discount for bulk purchases. buying a squadron at a time is not bulk by the way. 48+ is bulk Bangladesh's logic is in my opinion very strange.

Mate i dont want to be a party spoiler here but with 37 odd f-7s and 8 mig-29's do you really think you stand a chance against IAF? As much as i would like to see so but unfortunately you guys are overwhelmingly outnumbered by a far superior and technically advanced airforce ...forget about pilot skills because that is a debatable thing ...Bangladesh may/can have better pilots but still when you are outnumbered by such overwhelming margin and your enemy possesses far superior platforms ...the only thing you can do is pray either for some divine help or for such event not to take place.

Besides the way bangladesh airforce has lagged behind may it be due to resource constrains both human and monetary or for some political reasons , its very hard to catch up ...Only some miracle can make bangladesh catch up with modern airforces now...If i am IAF i won't be even considering bangladesh at this point in time because 8 mig 29s or 25 mig 29 ai'nt gonna make any such difference.

Besides when you have such good government to government relationships with haseen regime tilted towards modi sarkar why do you even want to think about the possibility of a tussle? Ain't haseena regime doing good sycophant job?
so,according to ur logic we mustnt hv army or navy either...!!bcoz they r vastly outnumbered in everything...!!!so,what??!!!we have a forces goal...many MRCA squadron will rise according to this plan...nd pls, stop draaging BD in everything...

nw,u r comparing between myanmar economy nd bangladesh economy...??!!:undecided::undecided::undecided::hitwall::hitwall: we cant afford advnced russian jets??!!!:disagree::disagree::disagree:r u what??!!!a specialist about BD??!!!
