Saudi Arabia expresses interest in JF-17 co-production with Pakistan.

Well this certainly gets my hopes up regarding the sales of the JFT, Saudia has been one of Pakistan's most key strategic partners and should they choose to opt for the JFT, the defence relations between the two countries will enter a new phase all-together.
 
We fly Pakistan jets which we could have obtained elsewhere.

We use Pakistani-modified Chinese mortars which we could have gotten elsewhere.

Thus, I don't think everything been said is entirely true.

Which jets, KSA does not fly any Pakistani jets.
 
I want KSA to take JFT. Put it on syrain border as it will give cost effective weapon system with high sortie rate. And then destroy those filthy remaining mig-29s and su-24s that are killing civilians.

And here I thought that our foremost 'Field Man' would take the same line of arguments taken by some of our more esteemed members that 'Saudi Arabia has been a constant source of terrorism in Pakistan' & here you're saying they're one of Pakistan's most key strategic partner ! :o:

I dunno whether to feel vindicated & relieved that the Saudis are our allies as I've always believed them to be ! :kiss3:

Or sad that some of our esteemed members are brainless babooooons ! :(

I don't think KSA needs the JFT to be able to intervene in the Syrain conflict if they want, they already have a well-equipped Air force but remaining neutral in the conflict suits Saudi interests just fine which is why they have refrained from direct intervention.
 
No jets but they do fly Super Mushak trainers.
Yes that is known the only jets that can be called Pakistani are JFT and PAC manufactured K-8s, non flying in KSA. We should not read to much into a courtesy visit, very recently Jordan's air chief also visited, it's just a routine.

There's no denying that the Saudis share a very important strategic relationship with us. We maintain a brigade strength training contingent in KSA, our Staffs man their academies, they send entire battalions over for training, they buy a good deal of ammunition from us and we are their go to guys for other projects that I am not at discretion to mention.
The question of Saudi influence over the TTP and some other militant outfits is an entirely different question which is beyond the scope of this thread and will only serve to de-track the wonderful discussion we've got going here.

With Al-Khalids. The Saudi military dropped the requirement for a mid weight tank.

Al Khalid, performed well in trails. We have the right to blame the Saudis, had they bought another machine of that weight class.

They didn't have the requirement, therefore opted out.

But wouldn't the latter part of the question establish whether we do or we don't have a strategic relationship with the Saudis that would need to be there to begin with for there ever to be if that relationship is to be taken forwards in terms of offering an aircraft to them, possibly as a joint-production or joint-venture even with view to further improvement with them providing the liquidity, that has a strategic significance for us ? Therefore I would imagine that the former & the latter are intrinsically linked with each other ! :unsure:

The Tank was bound to perform well as it is tailor-made for desert warfare. I am glad you brought up the matter of weight category, most people believe that the Al-Khalid "Lost out" to the M1A1 as if they're perfect substitutes whereas the method of deployment, tactics and maneuvers for each have to be drafted from the ground up because of the difference of a good 15+ tons in dry weight alone.
 
I think JF-17 might not be luxurious enough for Saudi's taste.

The only weapons that we have chance to deal with KSA migh be J-31/Type 052D/Type 093G.

J-31: much cheaper than F-35 as a medium 5th gen fighter
Type 052D: much better than the Arleigh Burke Flight I, also not more expensive
Type 093G: only inferior to Seawolf/Virginia/Yasen, but it will not be expensive if China decides to export it
