Iran hails Hezbollah’s victory against Israel in 2006 war

Didn't allies in World War II suffer much more casualties too?
So why is that called a victory for allies?
The high number of high civilian casualties, comes from cowardliness of Israel, has nothing to do with Hezbollah.
They started bombing cities after they made sure they can't destroy or stop Hezbollah.

LOLOLOL.... Germany was bombed back to the stone age. Japan was nuked. LOLOL.

How do you define victory? When a country reaches its goal in war,it's called victory.
Israel's goal at war was completely,destroying Hezbollah.Well they couldn't.

When you compare IDF army strength with ones of a few guerrilla fighters which their number doesn't exceed 5000,it is definitely called victory.
When you look at past Israeli wars with Arab states,it's definitely called victory. When you look at IDF defense budget and equipments and Hezbollah's,it was a victory.

Israel didn't reach it's goal in war and today you see Hezbollah is ten times stronger than 2006.
Hezbollah did reach it's goal, defending against Israeli aggression. At the end, when Israel saw it could do nothing with Hezbollah,it started bombing civilians and and ordinary people.Like it or not,2006 war was a blow to Israel's face.

His statement was correct the Russian lost the most people in the war by a long shot.

Victory is when one prevail, ignoramus!

"When a country reaches its goal in war" so if a boxer set a goal to be knock-outed and he does then he is the victorious one? when two(or more) parties have a common goal then you can decide who is victorious, for example two countries fighting for land

 RLY ???

As I see it:

Hezbollah victory:

1) Hezbollah managed to fire the same amount of missiles against Israeli targets at the end of the war, in despite of Israeli intervention.
2) Hezbollah's missile arsenal is larger than ever.
3) They managed to surprise the Israeli troops, who had a weak preparation. Some towns like Bint Jbeil were well defended.
4) Political victory. Hezbollah grew in popularity during and after the war.

Hezbollah defeat:

1) Hezbollah lost a great amount of men. Many of them were part of the 'special forces' group of Hezbollah.
2) Hezbollah lost his strategy. In my opinion this is the biggest thing Hezbollah lost at this war. Israel (and the US) have made detailed analyzes of Hezbollah's strategy and both countries (especially Israel) have adapted their military training to this kind of warfare. A good example is the fact that Israel has started to train their men in tunnel-warfare.
3) The border between Israel and Lebanon is relatively quite now. Hezbollah activity is probably more quiet than ever.

To me it is a draw.

Why is Iran even supporting Arabs??

1st imam of shia muslims Hazrat Ali(as) said: "Oppose the oppressor and support the oppressed".

Imam Khomeini said: "We are on the side of the oppressed which-ever pole they may be in. Palestinians are oppressed by the Israelites, therefore we side with them."

and " We would surely destroy all arrogant powers if we could have the power to do it."

Israel didn't go in to destroy Hezbollah but to try and find thier missing soldiers and to exact a price on Hezbollah for thier actions. Israel didn't expect the cordinated anti-tank rocket attacks for sure. But Hezbollah was equally shocked at the amount of damage and casualties they took from Israels response. Which was many magnitudes worse then any casualties and damage Israel incured. I like how Nasrallah phrased the war in a interview with Lebanon's NTV

http://www.nytimes.com/2006/09/13/opinion/13friedman.html

"The Israeli response was brutal, but it did send a deterrent message, which Sheik Hassan Nasrallah, the Hezbollah leader, received. As he put it in an interview on Lebanon’s NTV, “If I had known on July 11 ... that the operation would lead to such a war, would I do it? I say no, absolutely not.”

Even he doesn’t think he won.

And by the way of the Israeli tanks damaged all but 5 returned to service.

Yeah, what a victory, if that is victory then i wonder what is defeat? but then again in such state of denial there is no defeat...

I wonder who is in STATE OF DENIAL ?

The 10th greatest Army of the World got its A$$ whipped by a bunch of ragtag militia.

I think it is you who is in state of denial my friend.

No body can say it better on Israel than you!

Two (or more) parties have a common goal only when they are equal to eachother. Each one set his goal depend on his abilitis.
So either Hezbollah = IDF and losed the war, or you were the loser, your choice!

He has numerously said that who was the winner in his view and, in the quote above, I can't see where on earth he has said they loosed the war.
You guys are either blind and deaf, or ignorant, your choice.

Half of Lebanon destroyed, over 1,500 Lebanese Civilians and Hezbollah killed.

What a victory
Sir when their is no comparison when it comes to technology than War is judged on some other factors the amount of loss money and Lives and their assets they faced they have never faced such kind of loss before and they have back away and couldn't enter Lebanon

He says that because of civilian casualties and destruction of human infrastructures. Not losing the war.
You know after Israel saw they couldn't destroy Hezbollah, they cowardly started bombing cities and civilians. That's why Nasrallah says that.
When you compare IDF military equipment with those of Hezbolah's and when you look at military casualties,You see Israel blowed IDF's strength in its face. When you look at 1967 and 1973 wars, you should certainly learn something from it.
