he is a troll and living a fairy tale life thinking Pakistani officials are keeping the country safe

pakistan must prepare for war against whichever country attacks - nobody is going to help us except God Almighty

Conscription should be made mandatory, and at any time an attack can happen, and Pakistan must continue to work for self defense measures
And you're the one we should entrust with Pakistan's security? :) Calm down.

1900 American soldiers killed, 16,000+ wounded, Cost of War in Afghanistan $536,486,446,560, Cost of War in Iraq $804,270,417,582, all to locate and find one man. source - Cost of War to the United States | COSTOFWAR.COM

Was it worth it? :pop:
And objectives are still not yet met, American forces are still actively searching for terrorists and need the vital resources to do such as NATO supply route and support of other countries - both from NATO coalition and Non-NATO allies.

1900 dead soldiers in an 11 year long war is somehow a sign of defeat to you?

Control over such a large strategic tract of land for the foreseeable future is a sign of defeat to you?

Ability to pin-point future terrorist threats from the AfPak region by means of their special forces is a sign of defeat to you?

Eliminating the world's most dreaded network of terrorists is a sign of defeat to you?

Almost all of major Al Qaeda leaders are either dead or captured. Does that sound like defeat to you?

Taliban has been bombed to submission so much so that they are now willing to talk and share power. Does that sound like defeat to you?

They are eliminating their enemies in your country every other day by drone strikes. Does that sound like defeat to you?

...and they did all this in a hostile atmosphere with a double dealing ally thousands of kilometres from their homes. Does this sound like defeat to you?

lol funny how to Pakistanis 1965 is a victory and at the same time Americans have lost the Afghan war.

There's really no limit to your delusions of grandeur, is there?

i'd still make better decisions than you, you'd probably sit like a duck and hide in a cave when bombs are reigning over you :guns:

Well I am in a position to make those decisions. Unlike you, I've paid my debt to Pakistan, long time ago :) *Try to read between the lines*

i don't even think an apology is going to open the NATO supply routes - when relational ties are worst right now

They confessed apology which means, Pakistan will open NATO likely. Not just simple sorry, apology means they can't make same mistake next time and acknowledges that it is illegal against UN laws, they accept their faults. For me, apology is meaningless.

The point of Panetta clown is in India, just like British PM spoke similary against Pakistan last time. Panetta will be back to normal when he goes back to White House. Nothing is worrying.

Threatening against Pakistan and massive strong Army is impossible.

But in Panetta's eyes, Pakistan is just another Iraq and Afghanistan, it's very easy to invade..:pop:

Iraq actually won their war with Iran. What did you win?

Iraq sustained an 8 year war. You couldn't last more than some weeks.

This attitude that you are somehow better then Arab's is really stupid. Last I recall they conquered you, not the other way around.

I didn't claim US was defeated. All I asked was whether or not the cost of war and casualties was worth it.

all I stated was that the objectives are not yet met and there is still a long way to go before Taliban is completely defeated. The US knows this and that is why they need Pakistan's help to reach their objective and withdraw their troops by 2014.

What about carrying out covert operations by special forces inside Pakistan just like OBL one.....They already said that they will station 8000 special forces soldiers. With advanced weapons and ammunition, drone strike may be replaced by these raids. No one will notice anything just like OBL one until they tell it to entire world. Also, collateral damage will be minimum and efficiency will be considerably high.

What did we win? We've been keeping worlds sole hyper-power contained and at bay :D Isn't that an achievement?

Brutus, easier said than done! :)

3000+ coalition casualties in Afghanistan ( 2000+ are american )
4000+ coalition casualties in raq ( 4000+ are american )
iCasualties: Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom Casualties
so there are 7000+ collation casualties out of which 6000+ are US casualties and the way the pentagon classifies a casualty in a theatre of war is if a serviceman is declared dead in an enemy encounter otherwise if the soldier dies during evacuation or is left permanently crippled then those figure is not included.
There are twice as many that have been left disabled due sustaining injuries resulting in amputations.
Wars are bad and ugly, Americans are not gods that cannot be killed, and if they attack others they will also get killed.

Pakistan rejects Panetta's comments on militant safe havens

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Saturday rejected US Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta’s recent comments on militant safe havens in Pakistan, a move that could intensify tensions between troubled allies Islamabad and Washington.

“We feel that the Secretary of Defense is oversimplifying some of the very complex issues we are all dealing with in our efforts against extremism and terrorism,” Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

“We strongly believe that such statements are misplaced and unhelpful in bringing about peace and stability in the region.”

Panetta said on Thursday that stabilisation efforts in Afghanistan would remain difficult as long as militants had safe havens in Pakistan.

“It is very important for Pakistan to take steps. It is an increasing concern, the issue of safe haven, and we are reaching the limits of our patience,” he said, using some of the strongest language from a senior US official on Washington’s strained relations with Islamabad.

“Pakistan has repeatedly said that it will not allow its territory to be used against any country, nor will it allow any safe havens on its territory,” the Foreign Ministry said on Saturday, adding that Islamabad will “follow its own timeline” and strategy on operations against militants.

What are you rambling on about, Pakistan is still lasting through WOT and in better conditions than Iraq. And nobody here is displaying this attitude, you're the one giving your own opinion. It is not hard to figure out that Pakistan's army, with more resources and manpower, is better able to sustain the country, than the armies of Iraq and Afghanistan. Taliban is not aggressively active in all areas of Pakistan.

I didn't claim US was defeated. All I asked was whether or not the cost of war and casualties was worth it.

Worth it to whom? It definitely was 'worth' to the Americans ans their politicians. The gains they have made go far beyong the measly $550bn they have spent. Accept it, to you $550bn might sound like a lot but to Americans and their economy, it's peanuts.

You fail to see how they are going to milk their position in the future. Don't dismiss all their future gains in a fit of shortsightedness.

You are assuming that defeating taliban 'completely' was ever on their agenda in the first place. They had a few fixed targets in the beginning after which whatever came their way was bonus.

As far as Pakistan's 'help' is considered, I think they have already dhown you how much your offer is worth to them. They know you're going to yield anyways and that's why they called your bluff on drones and are even in the mood to step up the drone strikes.

They know that a few $$$$ and you'll yet again do their bidding just like you have done throughout your history. Your history is replete with doles of American carrots and sticks.

They did in a place near military establishment, city near capital of your country and nobody knew....now we are talking about border areas with mountainous region, minimum security......you pick which is more easier.....Point is they have the capability and equipment to carry out such operations. :smokin:

Last I heard that those who were sent off to the 'new world' were the garbage of europe and then they did mutiny against the Crown and through murder and genocide got hold of other people's lands , not very falttering I must say
