What caused overpopulation in Pakistan?

Solutions to overpopulation and what you can do

Don't think Pakistan is overpopulated.

The land mass can accommodate the populace if they are spread out and not concentrated upon few urban centres.

Where? Most of it is overcrowded. Pakistan ranks six in the world in terms of population and look at it's size. The only sparsely populated areas of Pakistan are deserts and mountains, both inhospitable.

No need to make excuses for overpopulation.

As economic burdens grows and urbanization more viable, the population growth will adjust itself.

With predictions of it surpassing 300 million people by 2050, I don't think so. It will crash eventually, but we want to avoid that disastrous crash by all means.

It is recommended to raise the alarm but not to create panic.

Overpopulation is one of the biggest issues in Pakistan.

You breed more, in turn you irrigate more agricultural land and the cycle continues. That’s screwed up. When would this be enough.

The strain it has on a country’s infrastructure. Pakistan really needs to focus on producing quality people. The numbers don’t matter.

I say cap every family to 3 kids. Make it illegal to marry below 22. Tax families having more than 3 kids. Even Ehsaas Program should void families having more than 3 kids.
Enforcement of laws in Pakistan ? Hardly possible.
Molvis/khateebs love this topic of population to debate on it.

First step should be to re-locate Aghanis back to Afghanistan.

Lack of sex education, lack of contraception, lack of education on family planning and birth control. Take your pick.
Lack of education in general and the popular culture of parents demanding grand kids from newly wed couples.

Having a large population is a blessing. Having large human resources is a good thing.

So true. Like India & Bangladesh. Two of the filthiest and poorest countries with large economies. Now compare with Finland, a country with a much smaller population and economy but a over a thousand times more prosperous both economically and ecologically.

So no.

What about China?

India has a larger economy than Britain.

China's population growth has been regulated, which is why they have made tremendous progress.

And yes good point. India has a larger economy than Britain, but look at which one is way more prosperous. So large economic mean nothing.

Sustainable economies mean everything, not large ones.

Pakistan doesn't have a population problem the only problem we have is a corrupt institutions and mafias that runs them the over population is scam run by the kabbalah Zionists jews because they have a low population they want to stop the growth of population of other countries because they know they are out numbered and they want their own jewish population to grow

Do you think the creator of this planet didn't knew when he created the human beings and earth that human population would grow?
He would surely have warned people about the overpopulation but he didnt we are told to have babies and multiple Islam encourages us to have lot of children so don't ever fall for the overpopulation scam

Pakistan is not that overpopulated looking at the size, landmass of Pakistan at 881,913 km², which is about the size of Germany, Italy, UK combined.

Looking at the population of these three countries which comes to be 210 million approx, Pakistan population at 220 milion is not that high.

Pakistan population density is half that of India approx., whose population is 6.5 times higher with a landmass which is 3.6 times bigger.

BD population density is 5 times that of Pakistan, on extreme levels.
Bangladesh is a fertile deltaic country with ample fresh water and agriculture. So naturally it can support more people per sq. km than any other geographic feature. This is not the case with Pakistan. Baluchistan is a big desert, here goes 45 percent land of Pakistan. Half of Sindh is also desert. Southern Punjab is semi desert. Gilgit Baltistan is 99 percent rugged mountainous. Large part of KP also very much mountainous. This leave only northern Punjab suitable for any kind of dense settlement. Northen half of Punjab's population density is not much lower than Bangladesh.

Pakistan is already facing water shortage and other signs of overpopulation, what will happen when population hit 400 million by 2050 with reduced water flow in Indus and increasing desertification due to warming climate? Pakistan is going to be a big food importer to feed it's burgeoning population (if others can provide that much on international market) thus jeopardising it's strategic position vis a vis with India. Ever increasing population will eat away any economic gain hampering per capita improvement.

Both Pakistan and Nigeria are heading for a big population disaster. Bangladesh is also overpopulated, but it has already reduced fertility rate to acceptable rate and it's future population growth will be minimal and stop entirely by 2050s, giving it a chance to improve on a per capita basis.
