Tezgam train inferno - Death Toll rises to 73

Liar, there is strict checking taking place on every station and on junctions they have placed x-ray machines for baggage checking. They don't allow firearms, fuels and explosives.
No one can mess with Tableeghi moulvi, may be they have excuse they will use it after reaching their spot.

all hails to tableegi jamaat . tbey were cooking their food in the train

This happens when you only teach how to read namaz and do wudhu, what should be the length of beard, how someone will go to hell for forgetting small acts.. but you never teach how to conduct affairs that ensure safety and security of others..

The time tableeghis (and I have spent time with them.. they are very nice people) spend on just correcting namaz, if only 25% of this time is spent on raising awareness about worldly things, our society will become great..

Unfortunately , this happens when religious freedom goes unchecked. Too much of everything is bad. Now , every tom dick and harry has opened a mosque or madrassa , preaching his sect and giving sermons.
Now , we have uncountable number of sects , their followers and their own personal agendas and loyalties.

Should have adopted the policies of Gulf countries to be honest.

You just can't argue with a tableeghi. Either they will use violence or black mail you by using Islam. You will lose in both cases.

One of the most saddening & painful news in a morning ever. I have experience to travel by Train and management is not even better than Metropolitan Corporation of Karachi. This dilemma is not new but since ages.

Bhai I travel between Lhr and Rwp/Isl on weekly basis mostly by motorway only 3 hours on each side. Last year during heavy fog times couldn't travel by car, flight option was even worse so opted to travel by train both way three times, parlour car of course.

My experiences some of them, this one time 15 minutes before train leaves, train is full and everyone is seated no problem, the moment the damn train moves almost half the people pull their lunch boxes out and every kind of nasty smell tests the strength of your olfactory senses and as yet I fail to understand the reason if people had to eat why didn't they do it while they were outside, what has motion got to do with eating. Same like travelling from a Pakistan bound flight from Manchester or Birmingham. The manners of this nation well they are way below par. Trying to smoke, opening door, fiddling with the charger for mobile unnecessarily.

Its the same every time.

Btw there are no fire extinguishers in any compartment of PR.

Friends tell me the train was filled with tableeghi jamaat people, while scanners and police would have tried to do their duties but quantity or mob has its way of getting things done even against rule/law.

Tableeghi bhais travel with an assortment of things required during their journey there were small gas stoves, while the incidence is sad, loss of life is equally regretful, as much as people would like to blame PR and sheikh rasheed and IK, perhaps part of that blame should go to the people travelling/using such stoves on a train and coming up with ridiculous answers as mentioned above by others.

Saving few rupee in the name of meal ruined too many families and loss of national asset. And ticket collectors / guards see and ignore those stoves and gas cylinders.

RIP to the deceased.

Are you saying people take gas stoves with them on the train??

The life in homeland just like insects how many dies how dies no one care, a single human in civilized world dies accidentally or what ever not natural so concerned and repeatedly cover in media. Yahan tou hundreds dozens is on daily bases.
Until people are educated (and education starts from home), even enforcement of the laws won't work.

why on earth they are carrying cooking stoves there??? fire will spread easily due to Wind... why the hell govt allowed those things into coaches... It's too dangerous...

90% of the blame goes to public.. 10% to authorities.

Haven't we seen people jumping traffic lights in almost every city? You can't put 4-6 traffic wardens on around every traffic light to catch the culprits.. And people who jump the red light are aware of the risks involved.. but they do it.. It's kind of accomplishment for them specially when their family or friends are sitting with them.. because they get praised every time for the "courageous act" that saves time.. some for of thrill is also involved when a traffic warden is standing and they do it.. and even don't stop when he tries.. after every such act, they look at each other and smile..

It's a collective behavior of our nation to consider breaking laws and regulations as some form of accomplishment.

In the last government as well, when people died on railway crossings, I tried to not blame the minister of that time, Saad Rafiq, because he is not responsible for stupid people who tried to pass railway crossing by finding a way around the controlling gates. We can only blame government if there are no controls, warnings, etc installed.. but if government has done it and people still break the laws, then its people's problem..
