J-31 possibly being tested & evaluated in Pakistan

Keep watching block-3 evolve, that would give you leads to Pak NGF. I know you are desperate to know but we carry professional obligations.

Hi,

It is seemingly following in the footsteps of the Grippen NG----.

I'll be moving back to PK hopefully end of september. Yes i am looking forward to extremely pivotal ToT for block3 in the next year or so that should expand our share of manufacturing & would lay the foundations for FGF.

Hi,

As I told the Cardinal few years ago---JF17 would outsell the Grippen---.

To me there are three options to NGF or FGF or Azm:

1. A larger, stealthier, twin engined JF-17 in the philosophical bend of the Hornet / Superhornet
2. A delta similar to the German / French design
3. mini F-22 / F-35 / J-31

The above by messiach suggests option 1 could be in the cards. With the focus on a workhorse design that minimizes risk.

Hi,

In the context I mentioned it in---it still is---but on its own merits---it is an excellent aircraft for the money---.

Hi,

Every major weapons system has to be procured in a timely manner---it has to be ' right in your face kind of weapon '---it has to give you superiority over the enemy---.

It has to create a concern in the enemy ranks---and that concern would make them think of peace---even before you go to battle---.

That aircraft would have been---72 F16 in 2002-04----40 Mirage 2000 / 9's or 36 Rafales---all procured within 2 years of 9/11---.

That would have resulted in the peace deal being done on a fastrak---.

Now---what is the purpose of the JF17---!!!

We don't want peace----we are going to prepare for war---because it is going to be our own fighter that we can use any which way we can---.

Tactically and strategically---the building of the JF17 fighter and abandoning the procurement of the F16's / Mirages / Rafales does not make any sense---.

Because all these steps have weakened the defences of pakistan and taken it far far away from a possible peace negotiation---.

Paf gave bad bad advise to Gen Musharraf that there would be no war with Indian---and it was his blunder also to believe in what the Paf was telling him---.

This is the first time since I've been on this forum that I saw a Pakistani member take the bull by its horn.

PAF doesn't have a high end fighter. Without a high end fighter, you can't fight the IAF. This is such a "right under your nose" situation that most people simply fail to see it.

In General Hostage's words:
If I do not keep that F-22 fleet viable, the F-35 fleet frankly will be irrelevant. The F-35 is not built as an air superiority platform. It needs the F-22.

Today, all the way in 2018, it doesn't matter how many JF-17s and F-16s are present in an air force, they are all irrelevant without high end aircraft. You will notice that even the Israelis are asking for more F-15s, even though they are taking delivery of F-35s, an aircraft that is touted to be far superior to the F-15.

They are even willing to bring to life 40-year-old decommissioned American F-15Ds.

Look you dolt. The burnt husks of your Flankers and Mirages will show you how well we fight, Insha Allah. Don't forget ACM Sohail Aman's words: we will teach you a lesson that your generations will remember.

Follow block3. FGF will not be a remarkable departure.
Sounds as though the PAF will persist with a lightweight platform for the future.

Certainly a different course than other FGF programs, but a concerted effort to control costs and maximize deployment flexibility (e.g. high numbers, use new concepts such as optionally manned, etc).
