You might also want to check the engine being developed for the Turkish program. It’s not a Turkish option.

That's odd. The base model is an excellent carrierborne aircraft. Either insufficient training for their naval aviators or the aircraft actually has got a string of problems....

Bedrock of AeSp Eng is not to jump steps. That is assured failure. That is the philosophy being pursued.

Sounds as though the PAF will persist with a lightweight platform for the future.

Certainly a different course than other FGF programs, but a concerted effort to control costs and maximize deployment flexibility (e.g. high numbers, use new concepts such as optionally manned, etc).
