AAP- the real deal

The monumental fall in Krazywall support shows the BJP is 1000 times deadly in conducting character assassinations than congress look at their miserably failed attempts to to do the same with Modi for last 12 years

Spending the time doesn't mean governance.

Its easier to shout out fire, but harder to put it out.

All AAP has done is Nautanki. Wherever they go, they take camera.

Maybe what the guys did before was preferable. There were times when 100s died in a single night and it was considered 'tragic' but unsurprising. I don't know what the right way is, but the way it was done was not it. You talk about DP still under Centre- guess what Khurana and Dixit made droning noises about it for 20 years and we didn't even know. At least it is now squarely in debate. Lokpal was 'discussed' for 60 years and was brought into law in 4 years after anna began his agitation. You can call them 'anarchic' but that seems to be the only way to push decisions.

Here it is...

Sorry to butt in, with 46.5 meter blade systems on Mitsubishi turbines, (75 meter offshore blades are capable of even more), each system is capable of producing 3 Mw of energy, name plate energy of 3.8 , so for so you can be looking a 70 Turbine wind farm providing excess of 250 MW, and 4 such Wind farms,
all four of these wind farms will cost you less than a 1000 MW Nuclear reactor, when you combine the initial cost, Operational cost, Technology cost, Risk mitigation, insurance.

Additionally from the wind farms you wont produce any toxic waste, zero risk to the environment, setup will provide employment to large number of non skilled and semi skilled workers, and lesser nuclear waste in general is good thing.

Why cant we think in this direction???

Sirjee, you din't answer my question - u were hardcore congressi, why suddenly now AAP is the real deal???

1-high installation charges
2- maintenance issues
3-efficiency issues

There you go

Long term costs on wind farms are lower despite higher initial costs and larger break ever durations, but the costs of risk mitigation, NSG sanctioned safety audits, Insurance cost, and waste disposal costs are much higher when it comes to Nuclear plants, especially for India, unless it can develop it's thorium cycle reactors. Heavy water uranium and plutonium based reactors are expensive, the supply of fuel comes with extraordinary premium and environmental damage is something you cannot even put a cost on.....

But green technology has it's drawbacks too, thus there needs to be a good balance between, thermal, nuclear, hydel, Wind , geothermal, and solar sources as production of energy to satisfy the demands.

At the end of the day, it's our own land, and we need to leave it for our future generations, we need to have the foresight to leverage the green technology as much as we can and minimize the pillage of environment which we have done over the years.

Our generation knows better, and if we don't who will

Nothing can beat this.

Im not an expert, so I take it that those numbers are reliable.

But then, Y is most developing and developed country looking towards nuclear power?? Do u know in France nuclear energy accounts for 75% of electricity produced. China aims to increase capacity to at least 80 GWe by 2020.

Japan is not India. India is not as much prone to earthquakes like Japan.

my point is very simple. . .

!- off shore wind farms. . . means more installation charges than on land
2- maintenance will require more ppl. . .( one mechanic and one guy to operate mode of transportation at least)
3- efficiency issues because a bigger number of turbines are required to match the efficiency/ power production level of a single reactor.

U said u wont argue ??:mad::mad::mad:

Oh no...I am so not believing it.
If these governments really worked for the interest of ppl then they would have banned all the tobacco products and alcohol too by now.
Many countries are opting for nuclear power phase outs.
Austria was the first country to begin a phase-out somewhere in 1978 and was followed by countries like Sweden,Italy ,Belgium& Germany.
Austria and Spain have gone as far as to enact laws not to build new nuclear power stations.
After Fukushima disaster Germany has permanently shut down eight of its reactors and pledged to close the rest by 2022.The Italians have voted overwhelmingly to keep their country non-nuclear. Switzerland and Spain have banned the construction of new reactors.Japan has reduced reliance on nuclear power. Taiwan’s president did the same. Mexico has sidelined construction of 10 reactors in favor of developing natural-gas-fired plants.Belgium is considering phasing out its nuclear plants, perhaps as early as 2015.
Tell me why are we regressive??
Dont give me the old worn out answer that "we cant afford it".
Thats not true.We as citizens are mislead by such reports claiming NPPs are safe.

And one nuclear disaster is enough to cripple generations...which is a much bigger price.
Men are money minded...you proved it8-)

sandyji has forgotten about land acquisition costs. Windpower takes up a heckuva lot more space than nuclear power plants.

You'll need many km^2 of land to produce the same amount of eletricity as a nuke plant.

Fine....
You think further research in this field would not produce better results???
A decade back we had huge CPUs which were slow and required much more space. But today the mobile that you and I hold in our hands is faster...efficient and is much smaller.
You 're smart enough to understand what I am pointing at.
But the denial mode that everyone has switched on is beyond my comprehension.

Yeah you could increase the conversion of efficiency of wind turbines. But you could do the same for nuclear power plants too, the energy released by a nuclear chain reaction isn't fully utilised by power plants, much is lost to heat.

In the end it becomes a zero sum game. Nuclear power will remain the most efficient source of energy for India and most of the world. There will also soon be a quantum leap when fusion power plants come online.

Now you have a problem with ciggerates and alcohol too?? :bad::big_boss: Banning these would be evil.

Some of those countries are going through a tough phase. We are a developing country and without power, we cannot prosper.
We have been successfully operating reactors since decades!!!
