Zionist mosquitoes and infidel viruses amongst us

Why should all Jews be expected to think the same?

Where is the contradiction?

Heavens, no! If that is what you learnt then you have been deliberately and maliciously misinformed. You don't have to take my word on that. Just go to Rome and see Trajan's column, erected by him to tell the story of the conquest of Judea, a monument which has stood for over 1,900 years.

The population density of Palestine a hundred years ago was very low. Up until Independence Jews purchased their land from Arabs eager to sell it; there was no other way to obtain it. Much of the land was vacant; other plots were occupied by Arab tenant-farmers, some of whom migrated when their tenancies expired without renewal, others of whom stayed on to assist the Jews build their new farms and communities - without these the Zionist project would likely have died (80%+ of the first wave from Europe succumbed to disease or depression).

It is more helpful to think of Jews as a people expelled from their homeland for whom Judaism is their national religion - albeit a religion whose practice is not enforced upon Jewish descendants. Zionism does indeed have religious roots as we Jews often express, in our liturgy, the desire to return to the land of our forefathers and Jerusalem in particular; however the modern movement was initiated by Theodor Herzl, along the lines I outlined previously.

I am aware of the fascination many Pakistanis have for Israel and Zionism. I know it's difficult for you to grasp the ideology. The question in Pakistani minds seems to be why Zionism has worked so well compared to Pakistan. Both Zia (the only non-Israeli Muslim general to command Israeli forces) and some of the founders of Bangladesh thought hard about this.

Misinformation by people who have a self-interest in propagating lies doesn't help. That's why you need books like the one above, to immerse you into a different way of thinking entirely. You'll learn how external facts, ideology, and personal experience combine to produce action. You won't be a slave to the phony aphorisms ("Zionism = Racism, Solomon2 has come here to lie") of people like Arsenal6 any more.

The idea of reading Zionist's books shouldn't shock you. Menachem Begin's The Revolt, describing his armed opposition to the occupying British, is widely read by the Palestinian Arabs. I suppose they see it as some sort of model for terrorists. (Begin calls himself one, but the Begin's Irgun didn't target civilians.) The Irgun was small and quickly suppressed by Ben-Gurion when they tried to assert themselves against the Haganah. Begin finished his days as a parliamentarian, not a dictator. However, I understand Begin does a pretty good job of dispelling the idea that Israel is nothing more than an expression of Western colonialism.

What do these things about Zionists and their efforts to re-establish Jews in their homeland have to do with Pakistan? Nothing at all. The whole thing about Zionists being out to get Pakistan is an ugly libel that gullible Pakistanis appear in a flock to gobble up and that's what the author, Latif, is lampooning.

I asked out of curiosity, not because i'm here to hate Jews or Zionists, though i might disagree with certain people who follow this ideology of Zionism (and not all Jews are Zionist), and also i think there is nothing wrong with Nationalism, it exists in ever nation, race, ethnicity, and religion, as long as it does not involve the murdering of innocent people.

I've lived in the US most of my life and have been exposed to people of all religions, my friends were Jews, my classmates were Jews, my neighbors were Jews, my teachers were Jews, my doctors were Jews, i hold nothing against Jews, for many of them have been honest people, they helped me and my family in our times of struggle. It is human nature to detest anyone who intends to harm his fellow man and the society as a whole, be it through overt means or covert means, be they Muslim, Christian, Jew, Hindu, Buddhist, Atheist, or whoever they be and whatever their beliefs.

That's right, but at least I got to plug the book, right? It seemed appropriate as falsehoods regarding Ben-Gurion were what originally drew me to PDF.

Zionism is, quite simply, the belief that Jews, like other peoples, deserve a land to go home to and live and grow as they desire, in communities unmolested by oppression or anti-Semitism. That this land should be their ancient homeland in the Middle East was settled early on. It is a secular nationalist movement rather than a religious one.

Zionist ideas are in accordance with the de-imperialization movements of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, as the foundations of the empires of Russia, Austria-Hungary, and the Ottomans shook under the onslaught of growing nationalist assertiveness of their components. The strain of World War I destroyed the Empires and millions of peoples migrated and segregated into the new nation states or territories, like Hungary, Romania, Poland, Iraq, Syria, and the British Mandate of Palestine.

So Zionism does not believe in the proverbial saying: "Do no do onto others what you do not want others do onto you"
So Zionism is built on survival by oppressing others and having all the rights but denying it to original people of the land, the descendants of Kaanits and the Philistin, you go as far as denying history.
There are but few Jews who can claim their origins to Palestine, the majority are from European descent !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So the European Jews should go back to Europe and claim their real estate and the original Jews should remain and give back the lands they fraudulently acquired and leave in peace with the Palestinians the real owners of Palestine, with some few square kilometres as the Jewish historical home land, if we want to be the least logical about the problem.

Canaanite and Philistine identities have vanished, nor (as has been documented since the time of Alexander the Great) are Arabs their descendants.

As I pointed out, the formation of the British Mandate was in the wake of the destruction of three empires: Russian, Austro-Hungarian, and Ottoman. At least one-third of Israelis are of descendants of Ottoman subjects. Soon (if not already) it will be over one-half.

So the European Jews should go back to Europe and claim their real estate
History shows that neither Europeans nor Muslims, reliably respect their Jewish minorities. Two thousand years of history argue that there has to be a homeland. Israel still sees immigrants from Europe - the latest contingent is French, as that country's government has told them they cannot guarantee the safety of Jews who openly display symbols of their religion from violence at the hands of Muslims. (Currently Germany seems much safer - most Muslims there are of Turkish rather than Arab descent and I've witnessed the Germans guarding synagogues and community centers with policemen on each corner wielding submachine guns. That, of course, could change in a generation.)

the original Jews should remain and give back the lands they fraudulently acquired and leave in peace with the Palestinians the real owners of Palestine, with some few square kilometres as the Jewish historical home land -
Regardless of the merits of the "original Jews" or "fraudulently acquired" bits, that option is not open: the current Palestinian Arab leadership vows that Palestine will be entirely Jew-free, the Saudis have no intention of giving back Medina, the Egyptians and Iraqis kicked out the Jews decades ago, etc.

Thus your position that some Jews and Jewish-controlled territory should remain in Palestine means the question becomes not "What do Israel's Jews owe the Arabs? but "What do Arabs owe Israel's Jews?" and to what degree.
