What's new

Zardari, Haqqani knew about Abbottabad operation: Ijaz

at any given day I am willing to trust Hussain Haqqani that whatever he did or did not, did in good faith, as compared to what this mole faced Mansoor Ejaz.

at any given day I am willing to trust Zardari government, if military is planning a coup or playing against the ELECTED government.

We as Citizens of Pakistan must make sure the government continues and completes its tenure, and that no force is able to topple the Elected government and bring its interm setup.

and who says that Nawaz sharif is not on payroll of Establishment, when he and establishment made an understanding on memogate the other day ? just to ensure that he remains in good books of Establishment and forms the next government, he is ready to derail the Government current government? how convenient !!

if true (and it wouldnt surprise me to say the least) this has very serious ramifications.

treason, afterall, is a very serious charge. A very very serious misdeed.

at this point, regardless of outcome --- Zardari and his govt. should finish their term. A trial should await him once he completes it, if and when the facts come out.

MI also seems like a rascal, but the fact that Haqqani resigned shows (in my mind at least) that he did it out of pure guilty conscience and knew that a pandora's box was about to open. He knew all along that he could (and perhaps will) be exposed. He was stupid enough to think that deleting BBM messages off his blackberry would clean all evidence. Little did he know about the reality of digital/info technology where ALL records are always kept even after deletion.

May 02 was a slap on the Pakistani nation's face. It was an insult to the military which has put so much on the line in the fight against militancy in Pakistan.

If this new "revelation" is true, it basically puts Zardari Haqqani and "Dr. Afridi" on the same level. They have time and time again worked against the national interests of Pakistan and I think most people are (and should be) irate.

Assalam alaikum

i have no sympathy for zardari or its govt. but i don't believe MI either and why would zardari or haqqani know about it?

armed forces r the one who can or could have done anything in this matter.

with all due respect, you might be "innocently naiive"

where were the signs that Pak-Mil was even planning or contemplating a coup?

COAS Kayani himself was a fond admirer of the late Benazir Bhutto; he has never been shy to admit his affection for her --and his emphasis on the importance of democratic setup and strong institutions in Pakistan.

I'd like to know ONE thing he or the army has done in past 5 years which undermined democracy in Pakistan? How is Zardari's track record? If my memory serves me correct, he wanted to hood-wink the media just months after he was elected ---something which was about to lead to Long March Part Deux!

the power structure in Pakistan politics, is not that simple as you are pretending it to be, kiyani= bibi admirer, kiyani=no interest in politics etc

. .
The GHQ’s control of the Foreign Office and foreign policy is nothing short of a stranglehold and is both tactical and strategic.

Correct.
Zardari is probably not even allowed to go past the reception desk of the Kahuta Research Lab, let alone allowed any real freedom in 'strategic affairs'. Since the sacking and hanging of ZAB, it is the Army which runs Pakistan as a 'security state'.

Anyway, sounds like M. Ijaz is out to cause more unrest inside Pakistan.

nobody said it is; it's quite complicated......especially now with the judiciary and ever-boisterous media

but i don't believe Gen. Kayani reneged on his pledge to keep army out of politics; though i will confess army is sometimes forced to be engaged in work usually reserved for civilians ---- call it taking initiative which civvy govt. failed to tackle on their own (i'll be happy to see even 40% MNAs pay their taxes and stop mis-declaring their assets!)

.
He's probably right. Zardari/Bhutto are the biggest sell-outs in Pakistan. Benazir also promised America everything they wanted once they helped her return to Pakistan. PPP (Pakistan's Puppet Party).
