Yes. Mountain people have always been more secretive due to geography and their lifestyle. They were not as adventurous as pastoral or nomadic people who often were on the move. This is why few mountainous people created large empires and kingdoms. Often mountainous people were very tribal too as mountains do not have too many resources so mountain communities tended to fight among each other for resources. Raids on mountain regions also often made them suspicious to outsiders.
In the mountainous regions of KSA (Hijaz, Southern KSA, parts of Najd, parts of Northern KSA) there were many (surprisingly) differences between mountain villages even in the same region in terms of customs, clothing, beliefs, cuisine etc.
This is also why Caucasus is such a diverse region in the world despite being this small. It has more ethnic groups and languages than all the Middle East combined. Exactly due to being mostly mountainous.
Another thing notice that the few remaining "tribal" people in Europe and where revenge played a key role (even to this day) are found in mountainous regions and often isolated ones.
Basque country, Corsica, Peloponnese (Mani Peninsula), Sicily, Northern Albania, Montenegro etc. Not counting Caucasus here.

The traditional mountain architecture in all of those places is also remarkably similar. Same with the mountains stretching from Yemen to Southern Lebanon (Arabian Plate) and Caucasus.
For instance those mountain watchtowers found in Georgia and Dagestan and houses (stone houses often) are more or less identical to those found in KSA and Yemen.
Anyway why do you have that "Wahhabi" as an avatar?
Darwin sure looked like an ape.
