Wrong perception by Pathans!

I have heard many Pathans saying,that they are not fairly treated in our society.For instance one of my friends were saying Pathans have to work harder than say Sindhi to achieve something.This perception needs to change,don't you think they are over reacting ,what do you guys think? or do you believe this is true. @karakoram , @DESERT FIGHTER .

The day when Pakistanis will look beyond Sindhi, Punjabi, Baloch, Pathan. That day, Pakistan will be a force no one can break!

Mate as far as i concerned every community is suffering not just pathans. But at the end of a day we all are Pakistanis. If some one from my friends talk against punjabis or sindhis i argue with them that we should work hard and thats the key to sucess come out from blame game.

We are a bunch of selfish people, people are dying around us with hunger and thirst and no political party is moved.

I spend my whole life among them. And i can second you on this, but now things are improving. Most of the Pathans, Sindhis, Baluchis and Punjabis are thinking out of this circle of racism. Everyone has started to understand that, no one can do unjust but they themselves.

There was a reason we have given name as "Pak-i-stan" The Land of Pure's. And now we have to move on with greater identity then anything than just a small group.

Honestly if every middle class person in Pakistan donated just 100 rupees to a government that is accountable every week, just imagine according to last UN Poll, Pakistan has about 60 Million middle class. 100 rupees times 60 million.. And we can generate that every week! Imagine the difference we could make to our country.

But for that to happen, we need accountable government and people to look beyond their "Roti, Kapada, Makan" and "Sindh/Balochi", "Shia, Sunni" mentality.

Well we cant say this for every Pakhtoon, for many I have interacted with were perhaps more patriotic than I am. However, let me share a very strange incident with you.

In December, I was in Islamabad to sign some MOA with a local University. The VC of the University has been my Mentor during my University days in Quetta. We have almost 20 years long extremely cordial relationship. I was invited at his place for a dinner and many of his family members were there too. His family is highly educated and extremely well to do. One of his very close family member is serving as a Lt. Commander in the Navy. During the talk, that Lt. Commander started ridiculing Pakistan and said that the Durand line is dividing the Pukhtoons. I just could not believe my ears that a serving Navy Lt. Commander could say something like this. He went on (literally boasting) saying that I slapped my 4 years old kid for speaking in Urdu, for I want him to speak in Pushto. What? Of-course all this conversation was in Pushto but it didn't really get down my throat.

This is very disturbing trend and I am away of Pakistan for almost 15 years now. Is this a wide spread phenomena among Pakistani Pakhtoons, I hope not.
