What's new

With African market in the eye, JF-17 Thunder to roll in Morocco Air Show.

Truly, Africa is the place to be! PAF should target Africa and South America consistently. Countries with small budgets and no hope of getting an expensive fighter will definitely be attracted to Thunder. All the best!

.
We are planning to go at Singapore Air show , any chance of Thunder being there?
PAF has never showcased Thunder in any edition of Singapore Airshow and so was the case in BIAS. Main reason is that if we feel we have customers in any air show then we wud surely go there. We didnt go to BIAS because we already are engaged in much high profile Dubai airshow. May be we aint going to Singapore coz we already are showcasing Thunder in Zuhai. Also the fund availability for the air shows does matter alot.

.
Its the first time we are directly venturing into Africa. Quite improbable because of short time but would really love to see Thunder in Nigerian colors at this very air show. But IN SHA ALLAH the next edition of it would for sure see Thunders in colors other than Pakistan too.

Would JF-17 block 3 be a twin engine fighter ?
Till now there are no plans on board on going for twin engine Thunder. But who knows that in future we might see twin engine Thunder too.

If JF-17 block 3 wouldn't be a twin engine fighter then LCA-Tegas has a chance of becoming better than JF-17 especially since it is a better dogfighter
Can U please go in more details on why U think so?

it already has AESA radar.
Tejas doesnt have AESA radar onboard. Its still in development phase. Tejas has the coherent pulse-Doppler Multi Mode Radar.

The twin engine form of JFT already exist in the form of J31

But my question is that would JF-17 Block 3 have twin engine.
No bro not at all.
An aircraft is built around engine, you cannot just change it , making a single engine aircraft and then turning it into twin engine aircraft is simply not possible. If you do that, you have to redesign entire aircraft from scratch and create a new aircraft.....
Just look at F16..... Google it's initial blocks.... and then Block 60...... aircraft despite of its all revolutionary changes, is still a single engine aircraft........

This is block 1

Hi,

Neither Singapore nor Bahrain air shows hold attraction for JF17----. Also paf may not have the funds to spare as well.

The Moroccan air show will indeed be good for the air force----. It will also bring in a large crowd to the show----.

By that time the JF17 team would have enough time to analyze the information they have gathered on Tejas and adjust their game plan and approach.

Good to see India and China/Pakistan positively competing with each other on some constructive platform rather than shouting insults and saber-rattling that has usually been the norm.

The end result will be developing countries getting independent platforms rather than sanction-prone and political-strings-attached equipment even after paying the full price. :)

Unfortunately North Africans will always go for French or Russian equipment. It is a great step and wondering if the aircraft flew there or were flown? It is one major distance to get there. multiple stops?
