NEW DELHI: India has responded sharply to Pakistan's invitation to hold talks on the ongoing unrest in Kashmir , saying it is prepared to discuss only relevant issues with Islamabad. India's response made it clear that 'relevant issues' were limited to Pakistan's support for cross-border terrorism , incitement to violence and terrorism in Kashmir and its protection to internationally recognized terrorists.

The clipped response from New Delhi came in response to a statement by Sartaj Aziz, the Pakistan PM's adviser on foreign affairs, that Islamabad would invite India to hold talks on the unrest in Jammu and Kashmir.

"India would welcome a dialogue on contemporary and relevant issues in India-Pakistan relations. At this time, they include a stoppage of Pakistani support for cross-border terrorism, infiltration of terrorists like Bahadur Ali , incitement to violence and terrorism across the border, parading of internationally recognized terrorists like Hafiz Saeed and Syed Salahuddin, and sincere follow up on the Mumbai attack trial and the Pathankot attack investigation in Pakistan," Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Vikas Swarup tweeted on Saturday evening.

The statement is consistent with the tone of statements made over the past few days by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh. Both have stated categorically that any talks between India and Pakistan would only revolve around Azad Kashmir (Azad Kashmir).

PM Modi had also stated that Azad Kashmir belongs to India, implying that the only aspect of the Kashmir issue that was up for discussion was Pakistan's illegal occupation of parts of it.

The statement issued by the MEA also reflected the language India has adopted in communiques it has released jointly with a number of world leaders and international organizations.

Members of the Pakistani politico-military establishment have made regular statements on the ongoing unrest in Kashmir, including declaring terrorist Burhan Wani a martyr. India sees these comments as attempts to incite further violence in Kashmir. It has made it clear that the Kashmir unrest is an internal issue of India and that any comments on it are nothing short of incitement.

Talk about playing dumb call them about Kashmir and they cry about everything else except Kashmir :tsk:

Either the govt of india has no balls to discuss the issue that has been estranged in between the 2 countries by calling it not relevant or is just too stupid....It is clear they are not interested in peace for Kashmiri people nor ashamed of what they have done esp since they didnt allow the UN to get in and look...

And talk about levels of stupidity - they just openly told they will interfere in Baluchistan so what gives them any ground to set any rules? Retarded to a new level! :agree:

And this is minus the rear pain they keep giving via Afghanistan!

No need to guess. Indians have explicitly made it clear what is expected of Pakistan if there is to be any 'talk'. This is the closest any country can come to tell another, like it or lump it; and don't let the door hit you on the way out.
Basically, India wants Pakistan to do as its told; act as a subordinate, not an equal.

This is why India's approach to peace cannot be taken seriously, it is because they are not serious about peace. You give and you take, you don't simply take and give nothing in return.

As it is, Kashmir is the biggest issue between India and Pakistan, you solve that, you solve in almost every issue, including Indian allegations of cross border terrorism.

When Pakistan started adopting state sponsored terrorism as its tactic it lost the privilege to be treated as a responsible nation, let alone an equal. So if Pakistan desires to have any talks with India, it first has to prove that it has given up suhc immoral ways.

As to solving any issue, the only issue to be solved from the Indian view is that of curing Pakistan of its terrorist addiction.

This nonsense attitude of India , also needs to be discussed in detail during dialogue.

Morality hardly ever involves itself in geopolitical situations. If we're going to start throwing accusations, instead of acting like adults, nothing will get done. I could sit here, and give examples of Indian duplicity when it comes to Sri Lankan civil war, Baluchistan, Nepal and East Pakistan, but that (much like your pointless comment) would get us nowhere.

India doesn't have a moral high ground; its foundation is built upon money and its rivalry with China, which is the only reason why western nations care. The world will turn a blind eye to India, simply because India can afford to pay the right people off. This is not to shame India, every other nation would do the same in India's position.

It is one thing to make mistakes and entirely another thing to wantonly commit immoral acts. That is what Pakistan has been and is doing.

Oh, like India did with LTTE in Sri Lanka? Mukti Bahini in East Pakistan? Or how about Nepal, where it illegally blockaded the land locked country, and tried to heavily interfere with its internal affairs?

Don't play these games, or you'll find yourself in the same situation you're trying to put others in.

Whataboutry is not going to get a discussion far. When you bring in Nepal and Sri Lanka drawing parallels with Pakistan, we know that your argument does not have much weight. Even with Mukti bahini it was never about religion but more about the genocide and of course the malignant leadership of Pakistan at that time.

Here Pakistan is supporting a sunni jihadi movement under the pretext of freedom. The same policy which has destabilized the whole region and beyond, now ISIS is gaining grounds in Pakistan and Pakistan still will see terrorism with good or bad glasses.

Not only do you not know what my point was, your comment is completely factually wrong. If you aren't willing to go through a comment chain and read context, your comment isn't worth replying to.

Your F.M has now been caught out admitting in Parliament that India has supported TTP in the Quetta attack!

Yup, no talks with state sponsors of terrorism. They either talk or fight nothing in between. 26/11 terrorists have to be brought to justice. A country which hosts a terrorist released in a kandahar plane hijacking has no business in comity of civilized nations. Engaging such countries will only encourage terrorism.

If you want to reply to rhetoric with other rhetoric then don't call it a point. When the current state of Pakistan's support for terrorism and infiltration continues, you expect an adult talk?

Adults are generally held responsible for thier actions.
