I read it somewhere but i dont know if the source was serious. I read that Erdogan will go to Moscow in a few weeks to negotiate Turkeys entrance to Eurasian union. Could it be the prime reason for the Americans staging a coup against Erdo?

Don't know much about it.....but relations with US will never b same as it were used to be...specially unless US hands over Gulen to Turks.....

Good approach by Turkey....Have relations with all powers, no need to rely solely on Washington

Why? They tried to do the same in Venezuela in 2002 but they failed because Chavez had strong support from the people bbut also from portions of the army. American coups dont always work well. The result was another 15 years of Chavism

With all the ''gear'' they have in the region,if the US was behind it,wouldnt they have shot Erdogans plane(he was in mid air) down first?

Let's hope so...I'm tired of these countries who want to be ,as we say ..."si cu pula-n cur,si cu sufletu-n rai"..." with a c/o/c/k in the a/s/s,and with the soul in Heaven".

Don't get me wrong,Turkey is a fantastic nation,an example up until a few years ago ,of a progressive muslim nation,but it has to choose allready.

None of the other AKP politicians has a chance of succeeding Erdogan in way to sustain the power,it would be game over for the AKP.
Lets just agree that it was not US backed.

Erdogan is a great leader Turkey had in decades if not centuries. Turkey has become a strong country both in terms of economy and military. He is trying to establish relations with all major powers and gain respect as more independent and sovereign state. This did not go well with certain elements within and outside of Turkey. They tried their best but failed due to the unexpected involvement of brave Turkish people.

The first and foremost thing any coup plotter does is ask US embassy if they will support coup after is succeeds. If they say no, its the end since there is no point on staging a coup and then seeing the rest of the world condemning it. If they say yes you procceed. The fact that Gullen is for years in US and not somewhere else is not a coincidencce

You watch to many hollywood movies,ill say it again,if the US was behind it,it would have succeeded.
Take a look at the coups before and you'll see.

SINCE WHEN DID RUSSIA BECOME A MEMBER OF EU THAT YOU NEED THEIR PERMISSION. WHAT IS THE EURASIAN? AFTER THIS COUP I DON'T THINK TURKEY WILL BE ALLOWED TO JOIN EU AT LEAST. TOO MANY POLITICAL DIFFERENCES.
