Will Islamic World Accept Turkey's leadership?

Why should we lead the Islamic World? I don't want to be in the same team with Iran and Saudi Arabia.
I also strongly disapprove our desire to become a EU member. We should adopt a neutral foreign policy like Switzerland.
Let's focus more on our problems in Turkey rather than dreaming of world domination.

I knew, like most people at the warmer and emotionally driven cultures, you would not be able to resist the urge to mention your ongoing projects.
You don't know whether i do come from Turkey or not. These two flags on the left side might act as deception to mask my true nationality, including the avatar. I do speak Turkish, but i wasn't born there nor have ever lived there. I'm from a scandinavian country, only attended scandinavian schools from primary to uni. The accomplishments and ongoing projects were mentioned to demonstrate Turkey is not on bare feet, things do happen. And you better keep in mind the number of youth, educated in higher institutions, regardless of their current academic level compared to that of European institutions, are considerably higher than major European countries. Undeniably Turkey has a long road to tread if it is to attain those goals worded by me, but never underestimate human potential and curiosity. In short amount of time, humans are capable of wonders or great disasters, mostly disasters though.

And i enjoyed this conversation, good to meet a new interesting character on PDF. but its due time i go to bed, i'll try and answer deservingly tomorrow. Good night folks

You are still a Turk.

Your origins are in the region I described.

You did not originate from Scandinavia. You are not a native of Scandinavia.

This is perfectly normal too.

Europeans in Australia or America are not native to those regions either. They are natives of Europe.

Natives of certain regions display certain inherent characteristics.

Nevertheless, all this discussion aside, can you provide an estimate: what is the total number of FTE R&D personnel involved in Turkey? And what is the same figure for the entire Muslim world?

Compare that figure with one country like China, America or the European Union.

Maybe compare that number with Japan or Russia.

Where does the Muslim world stand?

Muslims need to learn where they stand, so comparisons have to be made.

Without these bases for comparison, no adequate policy recommendations can ever be made and implemented for progress.

My suspicion is that given the current demographic groups comprising Muslims, it would be hard very hard indeed, to find 4 million or more high IQ "super geniuses" (let's say, scoring at least 136, as a bare minimum).

It's better to spread the message of Islam to the natives of colder regions, like European natives and mongoloid oriental natives like the Chinoise, Japanese, Koreans.

Then, maybe by the next decade or two, the Muslim world can have a critical mass of high IQ 'super geniuses' who can make Monsieur Erdogan's ambitions into reality.

I am looking at some statistics like this. You see the number of FTE R&D personnel in Turkey was only around 90,000 in the year 2013, much much less than a similar sized European country, let alone the European Union's world leading 1.7 million.

Can you find the number of FTE R&D personnel figure for whole of the Muslim world?

I think Turkish people are wonderful , I think it would be wonderful to have lots of trade and positive development like better school and trade

Turkey and countries like Pakistan , also to some extent Egypt etc have great individual human capital

GCC countries are slowly also evolving

But I think difficult global issues need leadership and no doubt countries like

Turkey / Pakistan / Egypt etc and GCC countries with their Economic strength can help develop education in region and fight negative anti state elements

The biggest challenge is demons of rouge entities with misguided agendas

I think Turkey / Pakistan/ Egypt / Many GCC countries have people who are educated and we need to increase these numbers across Muslim world and if Turkey will take leadership why not

War should be against Corruption and poverty and that is why these country can help as they have good number of people who are well educated (High end school/ universities).

Also and educated person's point of view is well respected in Global Arena and yes these countries can also help balance the representation in global subjects what difficulties our populations face as global member of society

Yes. However is that because of nurture or nature?

warmer and emotionally driven cultures,
Interesting. You seem to be fixing certain qualities to specific climates/peoples. I would be more sympathetic to this argument if you could select any peoples and fix their quality along the entire time continuum. I have tried but failed. I give examples. Excuse me for any coarse language.

In 5,000Bc the inhabitants of Scandanavia were dum*b as f*cks and running around trying to figure out how to cover up their privates. On the other hand inhabitants of the region around Eurphrates/Tigris (modern day Iraq) or Indus (modern day Pakistan) were laying the foundations of human civilization. In the subsequent centuries from these cradles of human civilization arose empires and civilization spread in the adjacent region. We then had Ancient Egypt arising that gave so much to Greece. We had alphabet developed by the Phoenicians that evolved in Greek and later Roman. In addition we know where modern numerals came from.

At least from 5,000Bc to Common Era a timespan of 5,000 years Scandanavia was just frozen waste and as much central to human civilization as the Bantu Negroes. Indeed only after 500AD did Northern Europe impact human civilization. Therefore if you claim that certain characteristics are intrinsic to certain people or that it is the nature of the human than can you please tell me where was this elevated IQs during those five millenia?

Instead we see the relics of ancient empires only in the warm zones of the earth and almost nothing in the frigid zone? Indeed let me make some referance to classical writers that might have bearing on this.

"Come, tell me why it is that the Celts and the Germans are fierce, while the Hellenes and Romans are, generally speaking, inclined to political life and humane, though at the same time unyielding and warlike? Why the Egyptians are more intelligent and more given to crafts, and the Syrians unwarlike and effeminate, but at the same time intelligent, hot-tempered, vain and quick to learn? For if there is anyone who does not discern a reason for these differences among the nations, but rather declaims that all this so befell spontaneously, how, I ask, can he still believe that the universe is administered by a providence"

Aristotle in his Politics seems to attribute intelligence with warmer climates of the Asiatics (Modern Anatolia) and wild/fierce with Europeans (meaning lands north of Greece). These seem to be at variance with what many hold as truths today.

"Asian's have intelligent minds and are skilled in crafts"

Ps. In classic times "Asia" meant areas east of Bosphorus. That is modern Turkey plus other east.

Timeline of early human history. Scandanavia or any regions north of 50 degrees parallel are conspicous by their absence. Wonder where the inheriant high IQ geniuses were? Hibernating?

not interested.. Erdogan should try to become leader of NATO..

Was not under erdogan
I think this OIC is useless. Doesn't matter who will become the leader. Will they take any hard step against ISIS, Book Haram or others terrorist organization??? Can they face Israel on the philistine issue?? I don't think so

A leader needs a vision and consistency in this vision. Turkey's problem is that its inconsistence. One day it's Muslims, the next day it's NATO, then it's EU, then it's Sunni Muslims, then it's Turkmen, its anti-Iran, then it's pro-Iran, it's anti-Israel, then it's let kiss and make up, and so on.

It's a tight rope Turkey is treading. It's slippery and dangerous, so Turkey has to do balancing acts. Personally I didn't like Turkey realigning with assrahell but I couldn't blame Turkey either. Putin and his support for the genocidal maniac in Syria and the PKK terrorists in the region forced Turkey to stop her hostility towards assrahell. It's for Turkey's survival. On the other hand, what Russia and Iran have been doing in Syria has nothing to do with the survival of either of them. It's for enhancing their influence.

I don't feel the need of Turkey becoming a leader of the muslim world as I think more Islam is only pushing Turkey back to the middle ages. The less Arab influence in Turkey is, the better... Turkey should work for developing the human potential of this country, Turkey should invest in R&D, in it's industry, agriculture, defense sector, education and infrastructure.
I remember who back stabbed us in World War One- Saudis, Lebanese, Syrians, Palestinians etc.- arabs in general who believed the French and the English. One of Turkey's worst mistakes was involving in the Syrian conflict and letting those "refugees" on turkish soil... 3 million more people to feed big part of whom hate us.
I prefer Turkey being in good relations with nations who are our closest friends like Bosniaks, Azeris (and other Turkic nations in general), Pakistan- nations that are our brothers by blood, or in Pakistan's case- nations that have always been friendly towards Turkish people.
I prefer Turkey being in better relations with Israel as the most reliable state in the Middle East, a country technologically superior to all of it's neighbors. Jewish people have always been friendly towards Turks ever since the Ottoman empire saved them from Spain and all around Europe where they have been persecuted for centuries. They have been Turkey's ally until Erdogan decided to become arabs's savoir and eventually destroying all the good relations between those countries.
I would like to see Turkey in better relations with countries in Africa- we should try to increase our influence over there and try to stay away from the Middle eastern shit hole.

I prefer Turkey being a secular and progressive thinking country who respects it's turkic culture, rather than an islamic arabian- like shit hole with women wearing burkas and hijabs and people who have only read the Quran... even though I am sure most of Turkey's super religious have not read even that.
