IT job boom and working from home also doesn't help in this. Even if you go to office you'll be treated with a free buffet and you'll fatten up in no time eating such everyday, one of reasons tech parks usually have gyms.

I live in Lahore and I couldn't agree more. The only thing that desi Lahoris know is eating and chilling. Despite all of their flaws burger Lahoris are a hundred times better.

Red meat and generally a lot more oily lifestyle.
The advantage to BD is the reliance on seafood.
Seafood has its own toxic elements at times but as a diet is eons better than red meat.

Technically I could die in my late 30s too - multi generational heart disease and some diabetes as well.
It's the sugar. Our diets went too heavy on the glucose side (rice, bread, sugar). It'd take 1-2 generations of strict keto to correct IMO. I honestly lost 50 lbs in 12 months by cutting glucose. Never gained the weight back, even with a more lax intake because I removed sugar entirely.

I think banning the sale of wheat and sugar in our market would improve our health. If people starve, they'd at least lose fat, not the muscle. But by inserting the glucose foods, we are neither getting proper nutrition nor are we solving hunger. Just adding to our macro health problems.

If anything our animal imports would go up. We'd need to rework land for pastures and drive livestock creation.

Rice and bread are an essential part of a healthy diet.

It depends on the type of bread and rice you consume, how it is made and how much you consume as well.

Brown rice and wholewhat breads are fine to eat in moderation as long as there are not added fats and sugars in them or very little if required.

Also it is fine to have a bit of sugar(ideally in fruits such as bananas and grapes) but this should be either before or after exercise.

Increasing animal protein consumption willy nilly is not a solution to any health problem.

You are simply replacing one set of health problems with another.

The easiest solution is switching from de-germed grains to whole grains.

If what is stated on this forum is true, that refined sugar, large oil consumption, and refined grains consumption is high, then the obvious solution is to increase intake of whole grains, lower sugar consumption, and lower oil consumption.

In the U.S., there was an initiative under Obama to lower sodium and oil content in foods that brought most processed food in the U.S. closer to a balanced nutritional profile.

This helped greatly and was so successful that the demand for the new category of "lean hogs" skyrocketed so high that what was once a cheap meat turned into an expensive meat due to the balance of the nutritional value which changed what would be an unhealthy meal into a more healthy one.

Correct, but there is a far larger population of the chronically malnourished, particularly children, all across the country.

Body needs a certain amount of carbs.

I think it is about 50-55% and so the best carbs are the ones with the lowest glycaemic index like brown rice and wholewheat bread.

The lower the glycaemic index then the slower the body releases the sugar(glucose) into the body and so preventing blood sugar spikes.

i mean most of the current Pakistanis eat salaan with tubs of oil, do no excercise, consume sweet stuff, eat heavy dinners and go straight to sleep. It’s more of a lifestyle effect, you will most likely not get most of these issues if you eat healthy and exercise.

This will give malnutrition problems to a whole generation of growing kids.

And as it is, many people can barely afford food, sugary or wheat/corn stuff is all the energy they can get.

China, Pakistan, India and the United States have the largest total number of people with diabetes.

Yar I don’t buy this - the only person who has diabetes in my family is my chachi - the rest of my family by the grace of god don’t have any major illness apart from a few elders who died from lung cancer due to smoking lung killers back in the day.

Diabetes can be both genetic or dietary- sadly too many people addicted to samosas - methai - halwa and doodh Patti.

Lay down that paratha and butter chicken- walk/run - do some light weights and for gods sake quit smoking.
