Why pronounce Urdu words wrong on purpose to ape Bollywood accents

There is a world of difference between Urdu and Hindi. One is a thriving language and the other dead and replaced.

Hindi has basically become a mashup of Urdu.

As for these singers and actors, time has come for a proper Urdu lesson.

agreed but that lesson should be with DANDA:smart:

150 years later there's still a debate going on where Urdu originated from. Does it matter ? Everyone speaks their own verdion of Urdu. And I do sort of agree that I've seen some celebrities speak the "India version" of Urdu with the hard K, who the hell cares ? I can believe how stuck up people are about culture over here. Culture isn't stagnant. No you won't "lose" culture simply by wearing western clothing or speaking in an Indian accent (cringey but whatever).

You type in the English language, your phone was mass produced in China and designed in Korea, your car is Japanese, the food you eat has Indian influence, your religion is Arabic but YOU are Pakistani. Stop making a big deal out of non-issues.
The religion is not Arabic.

But you are right cultures/languages change but this change must be an improvement and by this I mean it should not cut off a people from their history or make them suffer from an inferiority complex.
So for Pakistanis, they should know Urdu (even if they speak Pukhto or Punjabi or Hindustani et al at home or with mates) as their (Muslim) history is in this and also in Dari but unfortunately the Muslims of North West Indian subcontinent have lost Dari under the auspices of British colonial rule, let them not lose the Language of the Exalted encampment.

@Ocean Pakistan has been culturally conquered. It has been a while now to be honest. Women from upper middle and elite class even apply bhindi when dressing up for wedding functions.
I have noticed this. There is is strange phenomenon going on. From the left the Arab influence or what is assumed as "Islamic" influence is creeping in but on the other side the Indian influence is seeping in. The net result is what is indigenous or unique about Pakistan is vanishing leading to a bastardised Bolly meets Arab amalgam.

So sad.

You do realize scripts and languages are 2 different things, right?

Nah - it is an Indian language adopted by Pakistanis. And that's perfectly fine. The genesis of 1971 was because of imposition of Urdu on East Pakistanis. West Pakistanis were fine with accepting an Indian language, East Pakistanis were not.

No, it's a language made by us Muslim who conquered the region. You took it and butchered it, this is what Hindi is. Now you are trying to do the same with Urdu, you are always stealing our culture and claiming it as your own whilst simultaneously spitting venom at us.

There's an Urdu word for beginning 'Ibtida' Now a days Pakistanis using 'shuroat' and there are many more which i notice every time i watch Pakistani news or discussion.
Even the gramer is Indian.
People who have been out of country for 15 years, finds such additions very artificial.

So true but blind followers of india in pakistan are going in opposite direction. Somehow it feels trendy to them to say words incorrectly
Indeed just like bastardise the language with english words to nth degree. Serious insecurity - no pride.

I can understand the point of pronouncing phonetics wrongly and should be discourage but at same time even so called pure Urdu speakers don't know how to pronounce "ژ" or why we have different letters "ک" and "ق" if you want to have same pronunciation for both.
At least the urdu speakers I know (myself being an Urdu speaker), can pronounce "ژ" and also know the difference between Qaaf and Kaaf. Although I understand that the difference is being faded in the street language that's fluently spoken..

Many other letters have literally mixed.. but when it comes to jeera instead of zeera and k-haa instead of khaa, buhat bura lagta hai

Everything is sound and it's our mind making meaning out of vibrations .. No need to worry until your mind is capable of grasping those different vibrations ..

Mostly naach gana field people are into this inferiority trend

Using "D" instead of "R" seems more ridiculous when writing.

"Bada" instead of "Bara".

Why. I remember a bharti on this forum wrote to me, humari jaan chodh dein. I couldn't stop laughing for 20 minutes.

Urdu and Hindi both evolved out of Khariboli from Delhi, Uttar khand and UP, get your heads out of your asses folks. Urdu & Hindi are both technically same language but can be considered different dialects(due to religion/politics).

Recite any piece by Iqbal and I doubt you'd say that again.

I am remembering a Hadees Shareef,,,,,,,, Summary is "in end times Muslims will fallow others blindly , they even cross others in fallowing them" (May Allah Forgive me for any mistake) ...........
So we are witnessing that........................... These so called celbs and role models are corrupt to their core(just look at recent A.z and mesha case) and they are corrupting our society,,,,,,,,, and I agree to some members here , This is 5th Gen war and we are losing it(signs are visible)

Finally someone one who gets it. Cultures and languages have never remained the same, if they did we would all be wearing loin cloths and hunting for our food with spears. Trade and conquest have carried languages and cultures which carried knowledge, why do you think humans which were cut off from the known world lagged so behind from rest of the world.

If Pakistanis want unity solely based on religion then why not adopt Arabic? Lets just drop every languages including local regional languages of Pakistan. I bet Punjabi and Urdu Speaking people would accept it straight away but people with more pride in their language and history like Baloch, Pushtun and Sindhis would violently oppose such moves.

Such a sad situation.
This so called Urdu speaking community of Pakistan has done the worst kind of damage to the beautiful language called Urdu.
And these Indian scums, they all address themselves as 'hum' and 'ap', as though everyone of them belong to Mughal royal court.
And the Urdu words thrust into their 'language of mordor' makes me cringe.
Their accents and their faces full of expression makes on puke.
They way the speak or tries to speak Urdu is so ugly.
They cannot pronounce kh or order words.
Pure Urdu is so much more related to Farsi.
We must atleast hire proper Urdu teachers who teach people pure Urdu compulsory subject . And not the Urdu mixed with this Hindi stuff.
Is there anyone who think about these things.
Sadly no.
Our society is seeing an overall decline.
Where are the great poets now ...
Where are the classic novel writers Now , they have been replaced by housewives like umera Ahmed and farhat ishtaaq who are destroying our literature.
Where are the great actors, producers, who work so hard on a thing called 'Urdu wit' which is lost now.
Oh we have a collective demise of our society.
Our women from all factions of societies are watching Indian soaps.
Men watch Indian movies.
The above mentioned people speak like Indians because they watch so much Indian TV and film, that they don't even reliaze that in their subconsciousness they don't know they are speaking with Indian accent.
