Why Khalistan movement almost failed?

The biggest reason? Sikhs are a practical community unlike Muslims and can see which side of bread has butter. Why else you find them in almost all the countries doing whole spectrum of jobs. To understand this, you need to answer this question : Which is more beneficial, to have a small province like Punjab as a potential market/job source OR to have whole of India?

No wonder you find Sikhs everywhere in India and abroad.

Secondly, Sikhs don't have issues in accepting others in their families and allowing their family members to marry outside. Muslims? Its very hard.

Lastly and most importantly, unlike Muslims from the subcontinent, Sikhs never had any identity crisis. Within India's framework of federal union with lot of independence to States they can flourish and they are flourishing.

To put is simply, Muslims of the subcontinent are and were never comfortable in their skins. Why else do you think on PDF there are HUGE number of threads discussing about possible arabic, pushtoon and other 'origin' of Pakistani Muslims? Why are there so many threads on 'Muslim Race'? Why there is so much of 'Ummah' madness when the rest of muslim community is not too keen on Muslims of subcontinent? Its simply frustration. Frustration of not being able to accept who you are and where you come from. Sikhs on a total contrast are well aware of who they are and where they come from and are at peace with it. No wonder they don't yell for a separate identity or nationality. They simply don't need it.

The only Sikhs who ask for a separate nation are those settled abroad. Why so? Because they are very keenly aware that they are refugees and guests in their respective host nations! Unlike Sikhs in India who have a home and a whole nation to themselves.

Hence, no wonder Sikhs Nationalism was stillborn. It was killed by Sikhs themselves. There was and is no need for it. Sikhs are a real Atoot Ang of India and I am yet to see any majority of Sikhs ever demanding a separate country.

Sikhs have a good deal in India. Their cultural rights are well protected in Indian state of Punjab.
It is hard to get a better deal unless India implodes.

It failed because not everyone in punjab was on same page. Whore Indra gandi toke advantage of divided punjabi society.
Bcos it was never a grass root movement but a terrorist gang supported by ISI.
Ordinary sikhs were at the receiving end just like ISIS , when ppl started retaliating terrorists had to run away. Khalistanis never won a election which says a lot about their support from common ppl.
Sikhs are present all over the world but never indulge in violence its only the some thugs who wanted money did all those stuff.

Pakistan and your ilk has tried to stir the pot repeatedly with no results. All that we have is false flaggers banging their keyboards and creating multiple ids.

Because any party or person seeking independence from India cannot contest election (1962 amendment to constitution). This amendment was brought because DMK that wanted Tamil Nadu independence won over 50 seats in 1962 election more than tripling its size over the 1957 election

DMK renounced separatism in 1962. They got popular support only after that

You are wrong on so many counts. Why dont you read on the subject before saying things? You talk as if you are empty of facts/ Here are the facts

1. DMK "denounced" indep tamil NADU TN after Indian parliament amended constitution barring those parties and people demanding indep from contesting elextions. That is why DMK outwardly ababndobned indewp demand.

2. Although outwardly gave up indep it asked Anerica if it would support if DMK go unilaterally declared indep. It happened 13 years after 1962 in 1975

3. DMK gave up indep TN AFTER the 1962 election in which it won 50 seats moire than three times in won in 1957 electin.

All this is explained in this article
DMK and Tamil Nadu Independence: A Recent Political History of TamilNadu

DMK opposes independence for Tamilnadu. It is a dead issue.

Actually, for Tamil Nadu more pressing issue is that of Kaveri water. So long Tamilnadu is with India union -- they have a handle on Karnataka to release water. If they chose to move out --unlikely-- they will be turned into a desert. Even been to Chennai in summer? They close down many business and schools and universities because of lack of water.

Tamils are very very wise folks. They are the core of Indian science and diplomacy. They know which side of the bread is butter and will not do something which is stupid. Just like Sikhs, they know they have their own 'Nadu' for their community bound by lingustic unity and rest of India to call home. Why do otherwise?
