Why Is India So Reluctant To Celebrate Its Tejas Success Story?

the flight display was careful and ordinary . meaning it wasnt bad but there was noting to leave you stunned and surprised as originally being claimed. Indian media lost the interest in reporting because there was no no show from PAF and thats the saving grace out of this disinterest for the Indian media.

Media shows the news and report which have more PR, thus they are bound to show the sensational news of the breakup and the makeup of the actress than the LCA Tejas.

The air show display by far only shows the airshow maneuvers and aerobatic and it is totally different than tactical maneuvers so only gignoos are going to gaga over any such airshow for any fighter plane.

However it is a milestone for the LCA Tejas for its first international arena appearance. Let LCA been inducted in numbers, the push over for the export is a good sign and some how HAL or other indian agencies needs to come out if it want to get some export orders.

Looking forward for the LCA Tejas MK2 which actually would be the good export product with the option of Indian (Uttam, ASTRA MK1/2), french (MICA), israeli (EL/M-2052, Python, Derby), and russian (R77/R73) munitions and MMR with the trainer MK1 and Naval Variant, which will give an option against SAAB Gripen NG, thats why SAAB have sensed and facing the heat.

Basically the air frame and other parts such as landing gear which even a village here could make.

LOLZ designing a landing gears takes lot of hardwork and technology and several years of testing and validation and certification. Even SAAB have outsourced its landing gear from UK.

Well I have given you some list of items which are Indian. In a fighter plane their are 3 major parts
1. Air-frame
2. Engine
3. Avionics

Airframe which is designed by ADA, certified by CELEMAC
Engine is US origin by GE and the original Kaveri have been delinked from the LCA project.
Avionics is the mix of Israeli and European and Indian stuff but the whole EW Suite is designed by DARE, for the Indian airforce requirement which is important. And the most important thing is that ADA (India) have the IPR of this plane called LCA Tejas. If we checked in the present world, even the big names in aeronautics like Boeing and Airbus are basically Integrator, with thousands of subsystems sourced from various subcontractors around the world. SAAB Gripen is a good example

FEW of the parts which will be worked on and will be later replaced by the Indians are

1. MMR -- AESA Uttam
2. Astra MK-1/MK-2
3. Ejection Seat

Hold your horses! The PAF didn't send their Thunders because they chickened out seeing that Tejas would have stolen the show! :D

And that, ladies and gentlemen, would have been an embarrassment of galactic proportions with a lot of egg on peoples faces! :cheesy:

Well done Tejas! Cheers!

Its the AVIC that pays for sending FC-1 aka JF-17 in an airshow, and PAF only provides its fighter plane and pilot, thats why its the AVIC chinese spokeperson briefing after the show not the PAF. So why qouting pakistani, you should quote chinese.

Maybe because expectations were so high for more than a decade, same as the MMRCA deal.

When you set expectations so high, you've got to meet (or exceed) the expectations, or be in for heavy disappointment.

.
And what did Pakistan produce for JF-17 , Radar, Engine, Mission Computer, weapon, avionics any thing ? even airplane grade aluminum ? tyre ? missiles ?

LCA is more indigenous than JF -17, licence production of plane like MKI, Jags, Migs is done in India from decades

Software developing and developing fighter aircraft are same ? What is wrong with your IQ? The quote was to make you realise only developer understands its problem not the buyer, and you took 30 years software coding with fighter craft production. Real rich sir.

You have been owned dude. sometimes its better to keep the gob shut then try to come across as Aristotle.

So how did the Tejas performed in some random air show in Bahrain? I see Indian Tejas fanboys are very quite here lately.

LCA is not a disappointment, it is meeting its specifications set by IAF. Reason why IAF agreed to induct.

LCA mark 2 is the game changer.

That might be because several maneuvers were not visible due to poor quality video, poor cameraman, the sun in the background etc. During majority of the time, the camera wasn't zoomed in and Tejas just looked like a small dot in the sky, only because of the smoke it was possible to follow the path of the jet.

Guys please check out the intellect level of this indian ...

This is LCA related thread not JFT .. and if you care to read from the start , i just posted about developer firing post and all you indian beating the bush and see where you have taken it :)

Kid , chill out and buy a candy ...

i damn care about what ans how JF-17 came to life, its there and we have 60+ of them in active service .. compare to few LCA ..
Also it does not matter how JF-17 started to who supported this project, reality is its all in place to kick LCA a$$ any time ... live with this..

Do not care to respond or tag me, as there is no place for arguments ..

It is better to let stuff like this be done under the curtain , apparently there is lot of money to be made by killing Tejas.
Drumming up our success will attract industrial espionage and the media usually over hypes any success story just to later gut the nation to make a buck that too on trivial development issues like landing gear a few months back...F**k MSM

There is a terminology called Time frame and it has to be set and achieve at any cost. If software developer didn't meet the timeline and even extension many times then its mean he or she is not suitable for the job. So by any mean he have to be fired. 7 to 15 years job not to take 30 years and that is insane and crime its self.

For the first time, India exhibited a 4+ generation fighter jet on a foreign land alongside some of the best-known names, and no one cared. The Old Media didn’t report it, the PM didn’t tweet, even the Indian Air Force kept quiet.

Warning: This is a biased piece! I am willfully breaking one of the thumb rules in Journalism, which says: never take any sides when you report. So you have a choice of not reading it, considering it is one-sided! I am frank. Honestly!

Straight to the point.

Why did the Indian media, politicians and the military minds sideline one of the historic events being scripted post-Independence? The Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas flew for the first time outside Indian skies when it participated at the fourth edition of Bahrain International Air Show (BIAS-2016) from January 21-23, 2016.

It was eight minutes of history that was worth a live telecast, considering it was happening for the first time ever. After all, we are a nation that’s so obsessed with records. Considering that Tejas flew all the way from Bangalore to Jamnagar. Then to Muscat and finally to the Sakhir Airbase in Bahrain! It was an event worth chasing. Shocking that even Doordarshan too didn’t have any live shots. Not even borrowed.

This was for the first time that a home-grown Indian fighter jet flew at an international event, outside India. First time the largest military importer in the world exhibited a 4+ generation fighter-jet on a foreign land alongside some of the best known names.

As a biased journalist, supporting India’s defence programmes, I woke up with great interest for almost a week, three days ahead of the show and on all three days during the show and the day after the show (3+3+1 = 7 days) hoping to read something in the newspapers. My heart would have skipped a beat if it was reported on the front pages, but even the left-side obituary pages too never had anything mentioned on Tejas.

Even news channels had bigger things to report. On the Day-1 of the show, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal grabbed all the prime time slots visiting Hyderabad’s Central University.

Day-2 Breaking News was the National Investigation Agency (NIA) arresting a number of terror suspects across India.

Day-3 was completely grabbed by Netaji files being declassified by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

And as I write this piece, two days after the BIAS-2016, French President Hollande has already landed in India and he will be our guest during the Republic Day. But, with Hollande in India, it was but natural for the Rafales to make news.

tejas-1.jpg

So, media had other things to chase and a desi metal bird flying for eight minutes each on three days is not worth reporting. And, even if someone did report, they might have no news sense like me. Or they might be biased, like me.

And then, what about our Breaking News Mantris? A tweet from PM Modi would have definitely lifted the spirits of Team Tejas. It would have cost the exchequer nothing. After all, a tweet is a tweet is a tweet! And, it’s sweet when it comes from the handle of your PM.

If the PM was busy, even External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, who visited BIAS-2016 on the last day, could have tweeted. The MEA handle did tweet a photo of Sushma watching the Sarangs fly. But Sarangs flying is no breaking news and they have been flying all over the world since 2004. But, Sushma can’t be blamed as Tejas might have finished its quota of flying by the time she reached the venue. Sorry Tejas; seeing is believing!

What about Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar, the man who was responsible to make Tejas cross the Indian border. One statement from Ministry of Defence, after the historic flight, would have been ideal. But it never came.

Why did the Indian Air Force (IAF) keep quiet? Well, what to say! Tejas is not yet IAF’s. They have just got one aircraft (SP-1) and they have been waiting. And, waiting. And, waiting… They have their share of concerns before Tejas Squadron takes shape. Still, one comment from the Chief: “Well done,” would have meant a lot.

Interestingly, DRDO tweeted quoting Parrikar on the last day of the show, which said: “RM (Raksha Mantri) at NCC Republic Day camp said, as per my primary reports #LCATejas has been appreciated by many other countries.”

There were press releases from IAF, MoD and HAL ahead of the show on India’s participation at BIAS-2016. Surprisingly, nothing after Tejas scripting history. What’s the big deal? After all, it was a demonstration and not any war!

The fact is, 24-minutes of historic three-day Tejas’ demonstrations did not find many takers in India, barring some biased journalists making noise! These journalists must be crazy. So, who is to be blamed? Well, who else now, the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) which failed to send their JF-17 Thunders. As per the earlier plan they were to come, to be parked alongside Tejas and Typhoons on the same bay. The media was all warmed up for the Tejas-Thunder ‘duel.’

But, with Thunder missing what will the lightning bird Tejas do? Just not done, PAF! Be there, next time.

So, what would have made headlines and prime time news hour? A tyre burst of Tejas in Bahrain. Maybe mosquitoes inside the cockpit! Yes. I got it.

Sorry Tejas, you proved your mettle. But, we ignored you.

It was a treat watching you. We are proud of you.

Take a bow.

Welcome back home, heroes.

Blue Skies and Happy Landings!

Not one Pakistani will list out what components were made by Pakistan but will keep putting out the image of LCA with foreign components.

Hide Pakistanis, hide :P

If you have some knowledge in industrial engineering then you will not asked list of components but percentage of product made by Pakistan. Anyway PAC had the capability to manufacture 75 percent of avionics and 58 percent of air-frame of the fighter aircraft. On the other hand Hal produce 65% Tejas by them self (Now can you list those parts :D).

But you will keep spewing nonsense and will not tell us which critical components of JF-17 were designed and manufactured by Pakistan. :P

As has been listed in this thread the components of Tejas made by India, do your part and list JF-17 parts for all to see how capable Pakistan is.
