Why is English given so much importance in the subcontinent ??

how did they get out of north korea ???!!!

They are employed by the Korean government....through their embassy here....Their embassy has a signboard with pictures of their leaders at the gate of the DPRK embassy....unknown miscreants(read South Korean expats:D) often vandalize the boards for fun....

These folks are not North Koreans………… Americans ?

Those were American visitors....I took it from their blog....but the people who manage(all of them are girls I think) the restaurant are North Koreans!

Look at germany, china ,japan, spain, france, saudi, russia, sweden, norway and many other countries.....all are economically developed.....still everything done in their country is in their own language and people take pride in speaking their own language....some of these countries even despise english...then why only over here if somebody dosn know english then he is a loser???

Why are the goras bashed in every aspect of subcontinental life, English my friend is an international medium so everyone must use it and the most successful people CEOs etc use it regardless of where they are from, since we have a history of British rule so English has an ''admittedly'', more central role in not just our lives but in the lives of all commonwhealth states....

English status as an international language is not in doubt. Speaking the language is one thing, making it one of the national languages is quite another thing. English became the lingua franca in India because of British colonial heritage and the Indian ruling elite's colonial mindset. Don't take this discussion another way by pointing finger at chinese or pakistani for stating such simple fact.

Come to india and speak to the common man not the upper middle class and elite. You won't get by with english. So keep ur biased views to urself. The educated middle class prefers english because it brings global oppurtunities, its one of the reasons indian businessmen are so succesful.

Development should be done and brought to the masses in their native languages not in some foreign language and because Indians associate English with education and socio-economic class, they tend to look down upon those who dont speak the language well

It shouldnt come from those earning bread in a english speaking country.
Its just good, when u avoid problametic replies to ur quotes. Of course u don have logic to reply.
Do better than trying to troll
