What's new

Why Indians generally hate Aam Aadmi Party and Kejriwal?

To Me AAP's approach is the real congress of 30's and 40's.
Congress in it's current configuration has no relevance and it's decimation will be a welcome move for India. Next in line would be SP, BSP, TMC, CPI, AIADMK and DMK hopefully.

AIADMK is better off atleast in TN from a development and sectarian perspective.
As long as caste in UP is alive, BSP & SP will exist.. TMC's existence depends upon the Bengali Muslims..
& I would rather see AIADMK rule TN than DMK.

Not so fast bro. Delhi is a special case. Their arrogance was obvious in Delhi. In other places, they still confuse it with confidence. :undecided: Also the Hindutva resurgence BS is being eaten up well even in educated youth. Secularism is literally a curse word among my colleagues:tsk:. As long as BJP can pass rumours saying Modi gave a warning to phalana saffronist outfit guy, they will be able to keep spouting their Hindutva nonsense without (further) electoral losses. The base stays in tact and the youth will still believe BJP is for development.

I will tell you what. In Tamilnadu BJP will not make inroads because of a certain history which BJP leaders won't even understand. In AP and Telangana they will gain significantly in the next election. Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Chattisgarh, Maharashtra and MP will not be bored of BJP yet. They have strong local leaders also. UP, WB and Bihar are so messed up that they would want to try BJP. The way economy and oil is now, it will be fine even in auto-pilot mode. Modi is fine for the next five year term also. It would take immense levels of stupidity to squander this position.
Not in AP, but yep in TG they will.

@SarthakGanguly Mate, you're being too pessimistic. Don't worry this defeat of ours is a blessing in disguise provided we can see it:-
1)To cleanse Delhi-BJP & Pro-Lutyens part of BJP
2)Deal with the anti-BJP Media by using a Danda
3)Media will be too busy in projecting kejriwal as a hero & god knows what else., it's then that the BJP can implement some reforms & non-populist decisions.. Also Sangh parivaar machinery can now concentrate on expansion in Bihar & UP.
4) With no opposition & 67 seats with only 6 Ministerial posts :) . Kejru will face demands from each & every community for representation which he will find impossible to fulfill(Punjabi,Sikh, jat gujjar, muslim, dalit, baniya, brahmin, yadav, MBCs,etc). And Delhi can have only 6 Ministers :) This will lead to infighting & sabotage.

5) W.r.t 4) & his freebie promises which he will find tough to fulfill! The BJP will make sure he can't blame them.
6)This defeat will awaken the Bihar+UP State units who will now work harder then before.
7)AS & NM will now totally change their game plan+strategy.

He folded hands to get another chance for himself. And Left perties like CPM are resonably clean even after being in power for many years in multiple states, why don't you support them? Kejriwal is ultra left. And let's see how long they remain 'clean', already there are doubts about their dealings.

The AAP guy who has defeated Kiran Bedi was a RSS sympathizer, another AAP guy was just caught in a illegal liquor case or something like that. Three years back there was another honest party, TMC in Bengal.

Congress did badly both in governance and corruption, most of the regional parties are equally worthless, Left parties have ruined a few states, AAP is more left than the left themselves, BJP governed states are doing better, now tell me.

Riots happened as the direct and immidiate reaction of Godhra, rogue organizations like Pravin Togadia's VHP and Bajrang Dal fueled it, after the riots Modi almost banished Togadia from Gujrat, they still share a bitter relationship. But Congress was very successful in branding Modi as the main culprit.

Nothing to see here, we have already seen his kind of politics in Bengal during the first two decades under CPM rule and then under TMC rule.

BJP emerged as the single largest party in 2004 election, they lost out to Congress in coalition politics.

Good find. :)

My concern is not Delhi, I am worried that AAP will start a new race of populist politics among other political parties, all will start doling out freebies to survive, economy will be the ultimate sufferer.

@DRAY
one of the reasons why AAP did so well were the god-damn freebies, You have no idea how many college youth in Delhi voted for AAP because of free Wifi,. One of my idiot friends from Noida(in my college) now wants to shift & live in Delhi because he believes he will get free bijli, paani & wi-fi :(

And yes BJP did pathetic because of massive internal sabotage, how else could they lose many strongholds.

And I agree with most of your post, I believe that AAP is basically another TMC(or similar to that) which is yet to show it's true colours.

Winning elections is one thing but fulfilling his poll promises is all together a different ball game. Lets see how he plays his second innings. People gave him another chance in spite of his antics. Delhi public is very forgiving in my opinion.

It seems that they were buoyed by the assurance of a strong central government, which they thought would help a different state party perform better.

Let's see what Mr. Kejriwal has to offer. TOI tells that he will take the oath on Feb 14.

After what he did in the aftermath of Gujarat riots, I am pretty sure he is anti-Muslim :D

You guys are on the right path. Big Industries start with small industries that India excels in the time being.

you saw his only one interview, you din't see his 100s of interviews in which he clearly said I am hurt by riots but I will not apologize as I din't do anything against constitution of India. He once said I started ignoring questions about riots as I got to know that they don't wan to understand the truth they want something spicy

I think AAP is 60's, 70's & 80's CPM, just less organized and less idealistic, maybe more clever, and they are more leftist than CPM, left of left. During those days CPM also used to attract the most educated ones and intellectuals among the masses, and they were far more honest than other political parties, but their communist ideologies did some long term damages to the states they ruled.

Let's agree to disagree.

AAP to me is a solution based political party, It is not relegated to 20th century ideological definitions of communism and capitalism, and neither is India. Political ideology for the country is a mishmash of progressive socialism with hint of conservative capitalism in some pockets. In India certain capitalist thrived during our stricter socialist days, not the people.

If AAP get's it solution for micro economics from left right or center, I see no harm in it. And more essentially people of delhi think so, which gave them a thumping mandate.

Irrespective of this I remember the words of Kapil Sibal challenging IAC to fight elections... two years down the line AAP has decimated congress from Delhi.... This gives me immense satisfaction.... Congress challenged the might of the common man, and the common man used this newly formed party AAP as a tool to evaporate Congress. from delhi.... AAP's future is in it's own hands, it's up to them to convince the rest of the country that they can make real change. If they can't it would be another one in the list of disappointments that we have had, but if it succeeds... then other gomers in Indian politics better start packing their bag.

May be you are wishing BJP doesn't gain in AP. But they are, in a big way. All local leaders who won't be welcomed into TDP jumped ship from Congress to BJP. They are building cadre, rectifying the problems they had earlier. VHP is more prominent, organizing Hindu fests and meetings these days. If they complained about Muslims elsewhere, they complain about conversions here. I think the polarisation is rather easy. I also saw meetings which called for banning cow slaughter. Most film stars are towards BJP post elections. If they get even satisfactory level of confidence, they will leave TDP's alliance.

I think AP is in a weird mindset. They got screwed royally by the BJP(along with Congress of course) in the partition process. But they are now poodling along with the same party. I thought they were simply waiting for their day to get back at BJP.
It was either lesser of the two evils principle or that. But I see many people now supporting BJP, not just on Modi's back but also based on Hindutva. And it is shocking to see that people forgave them for what happened so soon. I see BJP riding another election with or without TDP just based on building the screwed up state and centre-state cooperation. Probably even harping on the same promises mentioned in the reorg act. For me it sounds like blackmail, but somehow people are comfortable with it.

Let's wait to see, because my family is from AP. And I KNOW what's happening in my state.

Modi is popular but his party isn't!!! People are still angry over the bifurcation you see, Venkaiah Naidu has also claimed that Special status can't be given+there will be no help for fiscal deficit. This has angered many People in AP.

And yes missionary activity is very high in AP, this has polarized many Hindus. BC organisations have vowed to work together in some districts to stop the missionaries. & many people from all castes are taking part in those fests, but they aren't necessarily BJP voters. Even many TDP guys hate the Missionaries and are taking part in those fests.

Also let me remind you, RSS cadre in AP have voted for TDP when BJP was weak(My grandmother who supports RSS confirmed this)

BJP is taking in many netas, I agree. But many of them have no credibility due to bifurcation.. Add to that they are useless without cadre which BJP doesn't have & can get only when adequate justice is done to AP, adequate justice still hasn't been done..

By the way do you know when KKR is joining BJP,, the rumours have been on for months

And film stars?? which film stars are u talking about other than Pawan Kalyan??
[Jeevita+Rajashekhar have changed parties more than 4 times, they have absolutely no base]

And yes BJP will contest independently next election. VN confirmed that.

EDIT1:-
And people are still angry regarding the bifurcation.. Let me tell you that, the role of both parties is unforgivable, BJP can grow a little, but it can't grow too much unless adequate justice is done to AP for the bifurcation.. This includes incentives for Uttar Andhra & rayalaseema+some adequate financial help for building the capital.

People are only turning towards the BJP(or to be precise the Sangh Parivaar) to stop the missionaries, not because they have forgiven them.

I know. I was dreaming about Punjab. :D
Hmm.. good to know

But the BJP units of TG & AP too are dreaming a lot :D ..

Kishan Reddy already thinks he can become the CM of TG riding on the Modi wave in 2019 &bashing TDP LOL!!! :D
Of course the fact that the party has little presence outside Hyderabad & is weaker than even TDP in rural TG doesn't bother him :D

And the less said about AP BJP the better, their internet karyakartas(who are more then their on ground karyakartas) are already abusing TDP & CBN & threatening to smash us like they did to SS in Maha. :D

Well anyway AP will be won by TDP next election & if revanth reddy is the CM candidate of the TDP in 2019, the TDP can do well in TG..

JAI TDP!! JAI CBN!!!

I am on a break now. I can't help Hindus who DON'T want to help themselves. Will get back later...

Kay boss .. Will see u later

& please don't blame me for how useless the local TG & AP BJP units +leaders are. They always had the chance to prove themselves in which they failed.

Replace Kishen Reddy as TG-BJP head, make Raja SIngh learn Telugu & make Venkaiah Naidu stay away from AP[The TG & AP BJP cadre blame him for the poor state of the party]. You will automatically see wonders in both states..
