Why I believe Russia will strike Finland and carry out a surprise incursion within the next 6-12 months

Russia can't afford Finland in NATO it is as simple as that because stragetically Finland has the largest border with Russia and finland joining NATO would be a grave security risk for the russians future.

Hence why I believe the Russians will strike the Iron while it is hot and in a surprising manner carry out an incursion into Finland even if it means Russia will fight on two fronts.. The Russians will put troops into Finland so that the NATO membership becomes invalid as Finland will become a contested area even if they could take a junk of territory to prevent their admission they will do even if it is as little as 10% of Finland enough to deny their entry.

Finland will fight but it won't be a dog-fight or hard like it is in Ukraine as the Finns are 4 million which means below 5 million they don't have the human resources to put up a dog-fight and majority will surrender.

But Russia is in race against time as it has gained the upper hand in Ukraine now and advancing around late summer is a timing to suspect an incursion into Finland occurs they could do it as early this April or May.

Will Russia race to intervene in Finland yes definitely will they meet the deadline definitely

Would be complete madness. The Finns can muster a million men, enjoy great natural defensive barriers (swamps, lakes, forests litter their countryside), would get support from Sweden (volunteers, weapons) not to mention NATO escalating the pressure on the Russians over two fronts. If the conflict stretches to the winter then the cold in Ukraine will be nothing to compare with Petsamo/Murmansk.

Additionally - you can be very very sure that right now - both Sweden and Finland are preparing for such an eventuality and ensuring the supply of ammo and weapon systems are in place.

It is all or nothing for the russians at this point and they can definitely manage 2 fronts.. Finland's army is trash and they don't have the ppl to fight long... Finland is not ukraine and only 4 million ppl with large undefendable land

Finnish land is actually very easily defended as thick forests make tanks almost useless and they have to travel on small forests roads without room for any kinda assaults. You should study these issues before writing anything.

There is a reason why Finland puts emphasis on artillery and air force instead of huge tank armadas.

They have a military of almost a million. It will be likened to fighting a Ukraine on steroids, because of the terrible terrain

1 million are fit for military service up to the age of 50 but the active military is 24000... But regardless I don't think Russia will invade Finland.

In fact it's hard to believe Russian killing their own Ukrainian blood brothers and respecting Finnish with nothing in common and the same or worst threat of NATO next to border.

Russia isn't in any condition to open another front and they've empited almost all garrisons near Finland and those men & equipment are being wrecked in Ukraine.

There is currently less than 5000 soldiers between Saint Petersburg and Finland. Russians can threaten their neighbors but Russian Empire version 2.0 isn't going to happen.

If Russia was to try and do something - maybe Finland can use that as an event to maybe reclaim its lost terrorities of Karelia, Salla, and Kuusamo provinces that were lost to the Soviet Union, as well as islands in the Gulf of Finland in the 40's.

Russia is an expansionist entity and it is time that some of those occupied terrorities are returned to their rightful owners. eg Kaliningrad should be returned to Polish control ..

Guess the cost of Turkey blocking Sweden and Finland’s entry into NATO until the Turkish demands are being met has gone up.

Maybe TUrkey is one of the few smart countries in NATO that knows that war proceeds after acceptance of Sweden and Finland into NATO.
