Why do we not learn local languages of other provinces of Pakistan?

No one gives a damn about English here in Germany, everything is in german language and you are respected more if you talk to people in german language rather than english language even though many germans can understand and speak english language.

I was once in Italy and hardly anyone can speak english there, in fact at Milan airport I was asking for some information to an italian official at the airport, he told me he can answer me in german language but he understood my question in english and off course I understood his answer in german language.

Isn't Frankfurt more in line to use English than German because I heard most Germans on big cities like that tend to speak English than German

Anyways I think it's great idea it will help fill in the crevaces we have among the ethnic groups and better understand who we are as a country also invest in broadcasting so well how come in Balochi language PTV is the only pro unity view and their production value is pure crap so who fills in the Diaspora sepratists same with Pukhtoons who watch channels and media from Afg

im am sorry to say this but our people feel shy speaking their own mother tongue, i have seen many Punjabis who don't teach their kids Punjabi lol...Urdu is national language and we must learn that also but that doesn't mean we shouldn't teach punjabi and our other provincial languages, if we go by this logic then people in the future are gonna prefer English over Urdu, we need to get out if this Inferiority complex just like some other nations which are proud of their culture and languages.

This always puzzles me, we have at least four main provincial languages in paksitan namely punjabi, pashto, sindhi, balochi etc. Why there is no culture of learning at least one language of a neighboring province. Here in Germany for example school students are required to learn one or two foreign languages spoken in EU, so most germans learn french, spanish, italian etc. But we have no such requirement in Pakistan. I think there is a need to learn at least one regional language other than the language/languages of your own province in Pakistan.

Here in balochistan , mostly people know more than 1 language .

here in our area pathans speak Punjabi like us even there 4 or 5 year old kids can speak Punjabi

Multani Sarieki is very “soft” & near Panjabi.

The seriki of southern panjab adeas like DIK,DGK,Bhakkar,Mianwali is very different.

Here in Sindh, Sindhi is compulsory along with Urdu from class 1 to 10.
We all know how to read and write sindhi but we are not fluent in it.

I am fluent in Spanish, I wish I could speak Mandarin. My family speaks Hindko, Punjabi and Pashto. I can understand Punjabi and Hindko but can't speak. I know a few words in Pashto. I can speak Urdu except really big words. I can't count in Urdu.

My best friend is from Khanewal.

Apart from Urdu, every other regional language should be forbidden to speak. Pakistan needs unification, harmonization and a homogenous population.

You guys are good in learning punjabi, almost all pashtuns even the afghan ones living in Gujranwala are conversant in punjabi language. We had an Afridi family from Khyber agency living in our neighboring area, their kids were born here and all their children were conversant in punjabi language. It is us who have no idea of pashto except those who have lived in Peshawar or Quetta for studies or work purposes. I had a friend who was a barber 20 years ago and he went to Quetta to work on a barber shop there, after one year when he came back he was always talking in pashto to local afghani pashtun vendors in our streets, I asked him how did he learn pashto so perfectly, he said he bought a book "Pashto seekhiye" in urdu language in Quetta and then he was using it with customers there and just picked it on the job.

Pathan learn different languages becuase they are spreaded throughout Pakistan. Every Pathan can speak urdu even if he never went to school. and for a Pathan to be a successfull vendor, he must know the local language too. Hence Pashtoon try to learn Punjabi (if working in punjab) or Sindi etc if working in karachi or shindh.. on the other hand, our Punjabi brothers dont bother. They will stick to urdu.

I think to learn any language, best approach is to sit with those who speak it. Simple as that. I had a faislabadi roommate for 4 years, i took help in Punjabi from his and in return taught him pashto. Btw its very easy to learn Pashto (applied to punjani too) if tou start from the curse words and abuses...

Some Family members can speak Persian, punjabi and hindko. It needs to be publicized in entertainment and politics.

I think there is a need to learn at least one regional language other than the language/languages of your own province in Pakistan.

Because those languages are useless! Currently if you're a student in Sindh you have to learn Urdu, English and Sindhi. Now you want to mandate a fourth language? This'll only increase the burden on these students and they won't gain much out of it. In the job market only English and Urdu matter.
