India hosted the Tibetan government in exile immediately after they failed to overthrow the Chinese government, during the Tibetan uprising of 1959. Thereby hosting China's largest separatist group on your soil.

And if that wasn't enough, next came the Nehru's forward policy in 1962 and the resulting Sino-Indian war.

You have so far been hosting the Tibetan government in exile on your soil, for over half a century. Even if they were to be disbanded, the damage has already long been done...

I don't think China has to chose between India and Pakistan, they will continue to do what they are doing today.
Look at India as Business Partner as well as alliance partner in global arena, like emission cut, G20 etc.
Look at Pakistan for selling weapons and connectivity with Central Asia.

They can do both together.

China needs Pakistan more than Pakistan needs China. China's current oil supplies goes through strait of Malaca and this strait is controlled by USA. China's oil supplies can be choked by USA within hours in case of an eventual war between the two.

China needs secure oil supply possibly over land. and that route goes from Pakistan period. Afghanistan is in turmoil and building any pipe line will be a disaster thus China likes to build its secure line through baluchistan. This is the reason they have invested $2 Billion building the Gowadar port which is now operational. A portion of the port will be under Chinese control. The present turmoil in Pakistani Baluchistan is basically caused by CIA with the help of Indian RAW to disrupt China's plan to build the pipe line. India's withdrawal from the IPI pipeline project and USA-India nuclear pact is one of the positive proofs of this fact.

Unless and until China could find a secure oil supply or discover its own oil, Chinese dependence on Pakistan will be there. And Indians can gyrate as much as they want but till they bend in front of China, it will not looks favorably towards it.

On top of that India's favorable bend towards USA sounds an alarm for China and it needs an equalizing force. That equalizing force comes in the shape of Pakistan. China wants the Kashmir problem never to be solved and it wants India and Pakistan to be enemies forever so that it can use Pakistan against India in case Indians have desires to fight Chinese forces with USA backing.

So favorable Chinese tilt towards India is a myth under the current circumstances. Chinese do want to do more business with India in order to make India more dependent over it. After all Chinese do most of its business with its rival USA.

China will choose India over Pakistan under the following conditions:

1) China finds enough oil to meets its own needs and have some surplus.
2) India gives back all the territories that China has claim over.
3) India opted for open trade with China.
4) India keep a cordial but not-so-friendly relation with USA.
5) India stops it support for Dalai Lama.

Till these conditions are met all the Indians can kiss Chinese favorable till towards India good bye.

Doesn't China claim most of india's north-east as Chinese territory occupied by india?

india is screwed, China is determined to get those areas back.

Pakistan has no disputes with China, infact we refer the Pakistan-China border as the Friendship Border.
