Why Bangladesh should support Sunni Arab and oppose Iran led Shia extremism

Dont insult your own people by saying everything from shahbag to a local rapes on India. Perhaps a person living in BD can talk better than someone living elsewhere.
Muslims like you, who preach secularism to the west, cannot preach the same in ur own nations. Such hypocrites

Seems like he is suffering from Indophobia, a disease very common in our neighbouring countries...

Iran is irrelevant as it always was compared to KSA/GCC, Turkey and Malaysia. And it will remain so even if U speak in the strictly business POV. Our rnational interest lies with strong relation with the muslims as it has been since the time of Pres.Zia. But yes it has been ruined recently which will inshallah be rebuild after awami low life maggots are ousted. Both BNP and JI have good relations with KSA, GCC & Turkey and they will always remain to BD's side provided rational friendly Gov is in power unlike now. So disagree with brother @kalu_miah opinion that we need to actively take part in ME conflict involving Iran. After Awami maggots are ousted we need to rebuild ruined relations with islamic world and China/US in which Iran is insignificant anyway. We won't have to do anything special like arming Turkey/GCC backed forces in Syria since we are incapable in doing so and neither our Muslim brothers expect it from us.

I meant that you should keep it legal:D

Blackwater (Academi) and Craft are legal PMC's (Private Military Corporations).

In a way, they are mercenaries.

They get good money too! (generally higher than national military)

For the Salafists, well depends on experience and the assignment. Unless you are willing to die of-course!:cheesy:

A friend of mine used to be in the CSOR, now he works for academi for 300 k a year....go firure lol!

Cant really say much in regards to the bengali attitude towards anything, they have a very indian centric gov, and are too busy implementing indias policies in bd.

I don't see how we have completely implemented a single India centric policy....not one. Yes, we have been ripped off in a couple of cases; which happened also during bnp's tenure, but so far we have not given one.

In my opinion BD value their sovereignty in most cases that extends to your BAL supporters too. Anti Indian attitude is derived from Indian action. Hindutva brigade likes to ham up our anti indianess without seeing how their action contributes to it. Whatever helps them sleep at night .....

My opinion is pretty much same as Aslan stated.
I have my only experience with Bangladeshis in Saudi Arabia, and i do not think most of them have good understanding of religion Islam. It applies to Pakistani and Indian Muslims too. I have seen so much evil in the name of Islam that i'm in state of unbelief.
Therefore, i would first like to know, what does people believe as being Muslim and than i question, who invented the sects.!
I personally, like to be identified as Muslim, rather than any sect. I consider sectarianism as evil.
If we are talking a of a state, who identify it self as an Islamic, than it shall preach humanity, deliver justice, and ensure equality and accountability.
Where as politics and branding of sect. shall be declared forbidden, if they are not already haraam.
After that if some one choose to follow any sect. he shall be not violently warned of hell.

According to Islamic history, Imam Hussein left Medina because, he was afraid of political divide... why can't Assad walk away, following foot steps of Islamic heroes or does he wants to prove :astagh: wisdom of Imam Hussein, flawed?
Our ex-President Musharraf... walked away, even it was only handful of people demanded his resignation. infact, it is such acts which refresh the Karbala not the blood shedding.

Extremism shall be condemned in all manners, especially in the name of Shaheeds of Karbala, which has its roots in post revolution Iran.

I am new to this forum and was looking for something much better than this. I cannot believe some of the posts. I am hanafi myself and it really does not matter if someone is sunni or shia. This is complete nonsense.
I think this is filled with baseless prejudice, otherwise I need some education as to why some posts here expressed such views about all ‘shia’ muslims. Judge according to an individual’s/community’s/country’s particular action, not some shrewd unnecessary chauvinism.
as far as BD's foreign policy is concerned, good relations have to be with all recognized nations

Those who are against the FSA probably because they are seeing a pattern of let's say Tunisia or more specifically libya to see the caos change has bought. Syria was also a bulwark against the Zionist and the they probably see this as a western plot to weaken Syria.

Good assessment. Many Assad supporters hate FSA for exactly these reasons. I'm not following the aftermath of Tunisia's or Libya's revolution, neither do I believe Syria under Assad is a serious threat to Israel.

On my part I support the FSA because Assad et al are undemocratic. Fall of Syria will weaken anti zionists forces in the short term but in the long run will strengthen Syria. No nation can fight unless it is at peace with self and for that peace to exist the autocrat in Damascus must be taken down.

Everyone has their own agenda when they choose a side - otherwise one would simply be indifferent. From your post, I understand you want to see "democracy" and a "strong Syria to fight against Israel" in the long term. You are assuming that the former will lead to the latter. Then again, even if it does, how does it serve your interests?

So let me tell you why I support Iran & Co in this conflict.

In the middle east, Iran is the only country that stands for everything I admire and want to see in a developing country (except the Mullahcracy): technological progress with its own human resources, resisting foreign influence and military intervention successfully (the only country in the region to have never been colonialized), a rich culture of its own and the political will to challenege the status quo that favors non regional players (read West).

FSA, on the other hand, stands for everything I have come to despise in the Muslim World: salafists/extremists, chaotic, ready to suck up to foreign powers anytime it serves their interests (Saddam or AQ's history rings a bell?), lacking in unity and totally visionless!! (Do they not see what's coming Syria's way once Assad's down?)

As always, a well thought and intelligent reply from mb444. I have responded to it, in blue^^.

Iran had been colonized multiple times, just FYI.

There are some serious problem with Shia's perception of Islam. But, we should try to maintain peace with Shia. Because fighting among Muslim will ultimately weaken the Ummah. Any fight with Iran will ultimately devastate the both parties.

You should thank the Shia clique who created Pakistan, dividing and boxing in the Sunni Muslim community in 3 different countries and thus making Bangladesh an isolated Muslim country. Shia Ismaili's were close to the British and British wanted to reward the Hindu's and weaken Sunni Muslims, just like they were instrumental in breaking up Ottoman. Essentially partition engineered by this Shia clique gifted a Ram Rajya Hindutva supa powa to Hindu's of India and permanently divided and weakened Sunni Muslims of South Asia.

so partition was a joint conspiracy hatched by evil Shias and Hindus in collaboration with Britishers to harm Sunnis of South Asia
quite interesting point

Interestingly, we don't buy an single drop of oil from Iran. Much of our oil come from the GCC states.

It's not that we hate Iran and Shias or anything. Or that we are NATO dalals. It was how our policy evolved throughout history. Especially after our participation in Desert Storm.

Our relations with the GCC states are more or less secure even with Awamis around (they have their limitations in this regard).

Regarding Iran from a Bangladeshi point of view, it can be said that Iran is an extremely unusual stakeholder in geo-politics. Suffice to say, Iran has close to no influence in South Asia.

So it looks like Bangladeshi people may not like to get into what is deemed as a sectarian fight,

That's because it was exactly what you were implying.

And a separate "Islamic" Peacekeeping force? Good God, what on earth for?
