lol When Pakistani batsman can score 350 score in matches then you can guess how much balls is swinging and how tough are conditions for bowlers ..These are all flat track where bowlers will have tough time ahead . England bat deep but bowling is still average. Team with skilful bowlers will have this worldcup

I think India's bowling is good, but Hardik Pandya is not a very good bowler.

Australia have their weak link of Styris and Maxwell.

I think England rely too much on all-rounders. Plunkett, Wood, Woakes, Rashid, Stokes, and Ali maybe their best combination from their squad. They lack a left-arm bowler. Willy is not very good.

Pakistan's best bowling combination maybe Hasan Ali, Shaheen Afridi, Amir, Shadab and Imad. I would only play one of Hafeez or Malik. Most likely Hafeez.

My Pakistan starting 11 would be as follows:

1. Fakhar
2. Imam
3. Babar
4. Haris
5. Hafeez
6. Sarfaraz captain and wicket-keeper
7. Imad
8. Shadab
9. Hasan Ali
10. Amir
11. Shaheen Afridi

I would play Wahab, Hasnain, Malik and Asif Ali if needed. Maybe Pakistan could try these players in easier matches.

Bhutan or Gambia

These sporting superpowers will tower over the rest!

I agree Indian team is well settled team but real test of bowlers will be taking wickets on flat batsman friendly track which is not providing any assistance to bowlers. If you don't take wickets then no target will be hard to chase for batsman ..I agree wih your team except asif ali which should be in team because we need someone who can score runs quickly in middle order..dont know why malik still in team and abid ali should replaced him

I did think of Asif Ali. His performance was good against England.

But you can realistically only place him for Hafeez. Imad Wasim is a fifth bowler and his odi batting average is 40.

If we replace Asif Ali for Hafeez then the team looks likes as follows :

1. Fakhar
2. Imam
3. Babar
4. Haris
5. Sarfaraz
6. Asif
7. Imad
8. Shadab
9. Hasan
10. Amir
11. Shaheen

Without Hafeez the batting looks weaker and I dnt think Sarfaraz should be as number five. Also, Haris will have to be the sixth bowler. So, Asif Ali can make quick runs. However, Hafeez is an experienced batsman and a very useful sixth bowler. The team seems more balanced with him.

I mean that I dnt think Sarfaraz should be batting as high as number 5. A team definitely needs 4 to 5 proper batsmen.

Ideally 5 specialist batsmen, a batting all-rounder, wicket-keeper, four specialist bowlers.

England have too many all-rounders. I think if they played on a seaming wicket or in swinging conditions, then they would struggle. West Indies beat them in a recent test series and drew with them in the odi series. It was mainly because of West Indies bowling.

I think Gary Sobers was the best batting all-rounder. Kallis was the second best batting all-rounder.

Imran Khan was the best bowling all-rounder.

Gilchrist was the best wicket-keeper batsman.

Or one could put Imad to bat at number 5. I dnt know how he will perform at number 5.

1. Fakhar
2. Imam
3. Babar
4. Haris
5. Imad
6. Asif
7. Sarfaraz
8. Shadab
9. Hasan
10. Amir

Shinwari should have played instead of Wahab.
Junaid should have been given an opportunity ahead of Hasnain.
Abid Ali should have played instead of Malik.

The other 12 players seem fine that are in the Pakistan squad.

As per Current form India and England are hot favorite but you never know Australia and South Africa can surprise.
India has a formidable bowling and lot is dependent on Bhumra. Its beyond a iota of doubt he is the best bowler now. With experience of Dhoni and Kohli yes Indians are hot favorite.

It depends who plays the best on the day and which team handles the pressure the best on the day.

West Indies was a much better team than India in the 1983 World Cup final, but still lost. India played better than them on the day.

Also, West Indies had two batsmen in Gomes and Bacchus who were not very good.

The problem was Kallicharran, Collis King, Lawrence Rowe, Sylvester Clarke, and Colin Croft had gone to the South African rebel tour and were banned.

The squad of 14 looks much better with their inclusion:

Greenidge, Haynes, Richards, Lloyd, Kallicharran, King, Rowe, Dujon, Marshall, Holding, Garner, Roberts, Colin Croft, Sylvester Clarke.

Replace Logie, Bacchus, Gomes with King Rowe, Kallicharran.

Replace Winston Davis and Daniel with Colin Croft and Sylvester Clarke.

Would like for India to bring it back, there is a decent chance that they can pull it off too.

A resurgent Australia and a good England team look like they have a fair shot too.

Best batsman for me after Bradman is Viv Richards.
Best fast bowler for me is Malcolm Marshall.

Viv Richards averages about 69 coming in as an opener in the 1975/76 test series

I agree with you.
The best batsman after Bradman for me is Viv Richards.
Viv Richards averages about 69 as an opener from two tests against Lillee and Thomson in the 1975 test series in Australia. This was when Thomson was at his peak and fastest. Lillee was a bit slower after his injury. However, he still recorded a speed of around 96mph in that series and was bowling very well.

The best fast bowler is Malcolm Marshall.

Never got to see Sir Donald Bradman apart from the TV mini series but Sir Vivian Richards was my absolute favourite growing up as a kid in the 80s, what a legend, love that guy.

I actually met his daughter a few times, told her her dad was the best lol

Windies youth now spoiled with dreams of going to 'murrica to play the basketballs, they were something else as a cricketing force back then. Such a shame we only get to see flashes of that brilliance now.

You are fortunate to meet Viv Richards.

Viv Richards test series batting average is 72.80 in the West Indies tour of Pakistan in 1980.
Pakistan's bowlers for that series were Imran, Sarfaraz, Qadir, Iqbal Qasim, Nazir, Bakht.

Viv Richards test series batting average is 69.50 in the Pakistan tour of West Indies in 1988.
Pakistan's bowlers for that series were Imran, Akram, Qadir, Mudassar, Jaffer.

Viv Richards test series batting average is 35 for the West indies tour of Pakistan in 1986. However, this the second highest test series batting average after Haynes, who has a test series batting average of 37.25. It was a low scoring series.
Pakistan's bowlers for the series were Imran, Akram, Qadir, Tauseef, Mudassar, Jaffer.

Viv Richards odi batting average is 93 against Waqar Younis. Viv played against him in 2 odis in 1989. Pakistan's bowling attack comprised of Waqar, Akram, Mushtaq, Imran, and Qadir. Imran and Qadir were past their peak. However, it was still a very good bowling attack.

Viv Richards smashed 80 from 39 deliveries in an odi against Pakistan in 1985. Pakistan's bowling attack comprised of Imran, Akram, Qadir, Mohsin Kamal, Tauseef Ahmed, and Mudassar Nazar.

Viv Richards v Thomson, Lillee
Viv Richards scores were 101, 30, 98, 50. That is almost two centuries and a fifty. That is at a batting average of 69.75.

Jeff Thomson was recorded at 99.8 mph in a study in 1976.
Dennis Lillee was recorded at 96.2 mph in the same study. This was after Lillee's 1972/73 back injury. I reckon Lillee must have touched 99 mph or 100 mph before his back injury. An example is the Australia v World XL test match in 1972 at Perth, where Lillee took 8/29. His victims included Sobers, Gavaskar and Clive Lloyd.

Michael Holding was recorded at 95.2 mph in the same 1976 study. Holding was faster than Roberts at his peak.

Roberts was recorded at 97.2 mph in the 1976 study. However, he was recorded at 99.1 mph in a 1975 study.

I reckon Shoaib Akhtar was similar to Michael Holding in pace. However, Holding could maintain his speed for longer periods.

I would place Jeff Thomson ahead of Shoaib and Holding regarding speed.

Andy Roberts and Dennis Lillee at their peak similar to Brett Lee and Tait.

My order of speed:

Thomson. His fastest balls touching 102 mph.

Holding and Shoaib. Their fastest balls 100 mph or just over.

Roberts, Lillee, Lee, Tait, Patrick Patterson for a few spells like in Jamaica v England in 1986. Their fastest balls just under 100 mph.

Kapil Dev was the worlds beat all rounder

You are entitled to your opinion.
However, for me the best bowling all-rounder was Imran Khan.

Tests

Imran: 37.69 test batting average, 22.81 test bowling average.

Kapil: 31.05 test batting average, 29.64 test bowling average.

Botham: 33.54 test batting average, 28.40 test bowling average.

Hadlee: 27.16 test batting average, 22.29 test bowling average.

Odis

Imran: 33.41 odi batting average, 26.61 odi bowling average.

Kapil: 23.79 odi batting average, 27.45 odi bowling average.

Botham: 23.21 odi batting average, 28.54 odi bowling average.

Hadlee: 21.61 odi batting average, 21.56 odi bowling average.

Out of these four bowling all-rounders. Imran is the best bowling all-rounder. The averages are one measure to determine this.

True.. but there is a context of indias weak bowling attack and the workload. In total quantum kapil had more runs and wickets. Finally indian pitvhes were dead compared to pacier Pak wickets. I usually dont count odi except team results.

From the batting all-rounders:

Tests

Sobers: 57.78 test batting average, 34.03 test bowling average.

Kallis: 55.37 test batting average, 32.65 test bowling average.

Kallis took 292 test wickets from 166 test matches. That is 1.76 wickets per test match.

Sobers took 235 test wickets from 93 tests. That is 2.53 wickets per test.

Sobers is the best batting all-rounder. Kallis is the second best.
