We always hear on media certain Pakistanis being labelled as Muhajir and many youtube videos can be found where certain so called Pakistanis use racism against Pakistanis who they label as muhajir but

Who is a Muhajir?

1st Point:
When Holy Prophet peace be upon him moved from Makkah to Madinah with his blessed companions. All the people who were from Makkah and moved to Madinah were known as Muhajir. The point is if people move from one city to another, then they are a muhajir because they migrated. So any people who live in Karachi and have migrated from different parts of Pakistan are muhajir. Anybody who lives in Lahore and migrated from different parts of Pakistan are muhajir. Same with Peshawar and Quetta or any other City and areas. Anyone who is a Sayyed in Pakistan they all migrated to Pakistan. Many different groups moved to Pakistan and all are muhajir such as the Africans, the families of Arab soldiers etc. So in reality we all are Muhajir but nobody calls each other that because we all are Pakistani and our country is Pakistan.

2nd point
When muslims and non muslims from current India migrated to current Pakistan, they did not move from India to Pakistan, but they moved from one part of Hindustan to another which was now being called Pakistan and the Indian muslims and non muslims became Pakistanis from the day Hindustani Muslims and non muslims dreamt of a nation called Pakistan.
Those who chose to remain in Hindustan part called India became part of India and those who chose to migrate became part of Pakistan. Remember all of these Hindustani people fought to make Pakistan and spent their wealth health and lives for this nation.

They all dreamt of a nation decades before Pakistan was created and so Pakistan belongs to all.

So we need to unite as Pakistanis and fight against this type of racism and discrimination. This needs to be teached in all primary and high schools and made part of the curriculum for the sake of unity of this beautiful nation

My mother call them mukamee meaning local for jest as now their fourth generation is pakistani born and still they call themselves muhajir. Who united them Zia

MQM abused and made the name of Urdu-speakers and Muhajir cheap to use in their ethnic, racist wars against Pukhtoons, Sindhis, and Punjabis in Karachi.

Those people who follow MQM are relics of the past just like N PPP ANP MMA.

PTI will unite all of us together in Sha Allah.

Those that came to pakistan after the grace period, meaning after 1947. That makes all the Afghans, Iraqis, Syrians, Filipinos, Bosnian slavs, Africans and bengali, muhajir
Pakistan doesn't give out citizenship anymore

The word 'Mohajir' (migrants) is stigmatized unfairly. It was nothing but another name to describe those who migrated from INDIA (and later from E. Pakistan) and whose mother tongue was mostly Urdu. They were officially called Mohajirs in the early days of Pakistan. It's true that, after the first generation, technically they were not migrants anymore, but the distinct culture--as distinct as any other culture of Pakistan--and concentration in urban areas of Sindh made the migrants yet another addition to Pakistan's cultural mix. And there was nothing wrong with that. Identity doesn't mean exclusion.

The demographic of 'Mohajir' didn't mean any separatism. In fact, the Mohajirs are some of the most patriotic Pakistanis ever. Go to the Indian Rakshak forum--they have a special hatred for those who migrated from India to Pakistan around the Partition, and that's because the Mohajirs, now called 'Urdu Speakers', are some of the most anti-India Pakistanis around. You can see evidence aplenty on PDF too. They played the key role in Pakistan's formation and later its economic prosperity especially in the early days. Look at my thread from 2-3 years ago: 'When Quaid e Azam M. A. Jinnah visited my family home in pre partition India' to understand that.

It's great that the curse of MQM is over. The people of urban Sindh have overwhelmingly voted for PTI. Fighting over naming of ethnic groups is childish. Pakistan can have Mohajirs, Sindhis, Punjabi, Pathan, Baluchis, Kashmiris....and still be strong. Those are all sub-identities below the 'Pakistani' identity.

Muhajir roughly translate into migrated. 3-4 generations down you still call yourself a Muhajir? This needs to stop.

welll........... Muhajir is not correct word ... but , they can adopt a decent name for cultural recognition ...up to them. I don t care.....
