Many times u would be seeing the SSG commandos but only on specific occasions, but mostly PM & President security detail is mostly composed of Police & IB kind of guys in plain clothes.

Military generals are protected by SSG, COAS is by SSG, PN Chief by SSG-N, PAF Chief by SSW & COJSC by SSG mostly.

As for civilian leaders, if they are in a public gathering, like PM or President going to the IDP camps, then SSG is provided.

And the guy behind Musharaf in this pic is not a SSG guy, its his Military Secretary. SSG guys have different insignias on their uniforms.

But for private engagements and normal routine IB and Police give them protection and there is a separate cell in the police for VIP protection duties, and yaa Elite Police Commandos & ATF guys are also used for VIP protection duties.

FIA is never used as its a Crime Investigation Agency, not for protection duties.

Well musharaf always had SSG or mix of ISI details, he never went for police guys for the inter most layer of security.
