When will China's military be able to challenge the U.S.?

The government better starts act on the population problem soon. But overall I'm very pessimistic. As the Chinese economy grows China will become more like other developed East Asian countries/regions.

According to CIA World Factbook total fertility rate in China was 1.79 in 2009. Comparing that to other East Asian countries/regions:

As you can see the six countries/regions with lowest fertility rates in the world are all East Asian, and among East Asians, developed ethnic Chinese countries/regions has the lowest fertility rates.

At this rate I think East Asians are going the way of dinosaurs.

You're being too pessimistic. There is one thing that Chinese people are great at and that's making more Chinese people. (how else do you end up with 1.5 billion of us )

Geographically they are in big disadvantage. The biggest advantage of USA is that all their major enemies lie half way across the globe except for Russia(don't think Russia is classified as enemy anymore).

Ok, know I feel relieved regarding these Chinese communist domination feelings of ruling or dominating the world, while they clearly know that Communism died in early 80's.......

I wasn't talking about military confrontation, but a strong China could bring peace in the world and prevent the U.S. from attacking countries left and right, imposing puppet regimes, stealing their resources - basically doing whatever they want, without ever being held to account for their crimes. It would definitely bring more stability. Apart from China, the rise of other nations such as India, Indonesia, Brazil, Turkey etc. is also very important if want a more stable and peaceful world.

China alone can't challenge US military domination, China alone won't challenge. Its impossible for China to do that alone. Not even after a century China will be able to challenge.

If you want to get rid of US military domination, co-operate with China. Otherwise lets remain under US military domination. If only countries co-operate with China, then the combined forces can challenge US military supremacy.

If Turkey thinks China is bad, then let Turkey remain under US military domination.

China is not stupid to sacrifice itself for the sake of everyone's interests. And one thing you need to know, US does not only bully China, US bullies everyone.

I second you, "Never" say it all. And i like to add another important factor why China will never able to challenge US cos you need to be a super power to take on a super power.

So the title of the thread should replace China to India instead cos India bound to be a future super power in 2020.

Forwarding challenge of anykind to existing super powers will only complicate the scenario,rather sort of mutual benefits ,interests will sort the things more easily.

us deficit problems are actually very easy to solve. they just need to deregulate medicine. i don't see this happening however, so they will hit a credit wall at some time.
