What's new

When did South China Sea become China's "core interest"?

I saw, although there are still some vague words. Seems to get such information, a person's name, and some sailors will do some work, but critical information, it does not have any information or in the Spratly Islands Paracel Islands, where they go ? Do not know. What they do? Do not know. You can put all the text in that figure.
and if this figure is true, then it must have some information on the Paracel in Vietnam ancient books, it is best to go to find them.

It's hard for you to read it? We call Paracel as "Bãi Cát Vàng" that time (Yellow sand or something like that), try to find the Chinese word which mean yellow sand (or something similar to it).
Another text?
In Lê Thánh Tông (1460-1497), the "Toàn tập Thiên Nam tứ chi lộ đồ thư” (Vietnam's full map), released by the gov, contain Paracel and Spartly.
Phan Huy Chú (1782-1840), in "Lịch chiều hiến chương loại chí" and "Hoàng Việt địa chí" (geographic books), he described about the management of Vietnam over Paracel.

As early as the Tang dynasty 618~907),China sovereignty over Paracel , according to our ancient history books.

Hell, I don't mean that Taiwan island belongs to Vietnam

Another "discovery", not "sovereign claiming" You must admit the fact that China haven't claimed/set sovereignty over Paracel until 1900s

We add English recently to the digital version, just because we want people around the world can read this.
The map which has English is called "An Nam đại quốc họa đồ" (Map of the great empire of Annam), released in 1838, Nguyễn dynasty.

In my opinion, you should see my post more clear, it is reply to your fellow, it seems, you completely misunderstood something.

A fishing exercise, the Tang government will manage it as a territory in the official books?

Thank you, I will go check this information.

So show me the evidence which tell that Han/Tang/Yuan claimed/set sovereignty over Paracel.

OK I will read it.

China's main evidence are some ancient books. From HAN to QING, I can tell you the title and author, time, and their Chinese content, I tried to translate them, but my English is not good enough, please forgive this.

First, HAN, the first record that has found some islands on the South China Sea.

On the first route to open up the South China Sea

If you do not have enough sailing activities, it is not possible to find the South China Sea islands, first, there is an accurate record of the route on the South China Sea.

The earliest record is 《汉书·地理志下》, the author is 班固 Ban Gu (AD 32 - AD 92 ).

A place in the South China Sea, there are many shallow reefs.

Therefore infer that the first time the South China Sea should be in the HAN dynasty.

OK, China found those islands in the year abcxyz. So what's next?

I asked for sovereignty claiming and sovereignty setting, not discovery or fishing movement.
I always respect you and your evidences, but please focus on what we need here.

No problem, but I would like to ask, if only a fishing, why a government would record it in official documents?

I haven't got your idea. You mean that it's unusual when the gov record fishing movement in their official documents? Yes, it's unusual but it's the truth  Look at your evidences, a lot of fishing movements, such as Mr A went fishing their and built a house their, we found fishing tools of Mr B ... blah blah blah ...

You can take whatever time you need.

What is that? I give absolutely no evidence of any fishing, you are talking nonsense, or you give your evidence, where they are?

I continue my question, if only a fishing, why a government would record it in official documents?

Not to mention 《汉书》, which is China's most important one of "twenty-four history books" , even china save a large number of ancient Chinese books, it is still most formal and important official documents. You think a sport fishing will be listed? Need give me a good reason.

Hell, so who post that thing:

1250 Chinese fishermen became the right by the Pan-Han Dynasty to settle on some of the northern islets and reefs.

And this

265-420AD Fei Yuan of the Jin Dynasty(265-420 A.D.) wrote about the fishing and collecting of coral samples by the fishermen of China on the South China Sea in his article Chronicles of Guangzhou.

I continue my question, if only a fishing, why a government would record it in official documents?
As I have said, I haven't got your idea. You mean it's unusual or what?

Do you think the fishermen do not need a home? Really judge that they were just fishing or have a home in the islands?

So difficult to understand? Only fishing activity is not included in such an important official document. Just when you people living in those islands, the territory to be your land, to appear in your geographic information.

No update today, today is the Chinese holiday, it is the Mid-Autumn Festival, you happy holidays!!!

They built a house there for their fishing activities.
Built houses is not a good excuse to prove the real sovereignty. Can I say that Taiwan belongs to Vietnam just because general Lý Long Tường built a house for his son their? No.
Not to mention that this "evidence" is real fishing movement:

265-420AD Fei Yuan of the Jin Dynasty(265-420 A.D.) wrote about the fishing and collecting of coral samples by the fishermen of China on the South China Sea in his article Chronicles of Guangzhou.

So what is this? Sea patrol?
265-420AD Fei Yuan of the Jin Dynasty(265-420 A.D.) wrote about the fishing and collecting of coral samples by the fishermen of China on the South China Sea in his article Chronicles of Guangzhou.

Hell, Lý Long Tường's son and 200 Vietnamese had lived in Taiwan in 13th Century so Taiwan belongs to Vietnam? No! Some Chinese had lived in Mongolia so Mongolia belongs to China? No!
Whatever you live their or not, the gov have to claim/set sovereignty, got it?
Appear in "geographic information"? Just ridiculous too, unless it's in the map which is released by the gov.
