@Indos Bro, I had some curiosity about Austronesian people,

1) After originating from Taiwan, Austronesians spread in all directions but not Australia, why?

2) Why some Austronesians are so tall like (Samoans and other pacific Islanders) and others so short?

1. I think it is because Australia is not fertile enough, the sea near Australia is rich with fish and it has been a traditional fishing ground for Indonesian fisherman. They seems to be very satisfied with Indonesian archipelago and start building many kingdom there.

2. There are multiple migration to Indonesia and Malaysia. The first migration has common look like African people and Malaysian called them orang asli (original people) but in Indonesia we dont have them. The second migration comes from Yunnan China and the last one from Taiwan. This theory have been approved by recent DNA finding conducted by Japanese university of several ancient body remain where the oldest has similarity with Andaman island people (African feature), the younger body have DNA similarity with Yunnan people from China, and the recent one has similarity with indigenous Taiwanese.

3. Pasific islander most probably mixed of Taiwanese and bigger people like Papuan.

Just look on how close Chinese Han people with Indonesian/Malaysian people DNA

Recent Indonesian DNA also has many variation from many part of the world like Middle East and South Asia,

Thanks for the reply.

Checked the Australian Arable land map, your guess seems likely - it's REALLY infertile.

The difference between Pacific Islanders and other Austronesians is amazing - Pacific Islanders are the tallest group among non-European populations, with average height around 5'10 that's staggering compared to any other Asian nation, and especially baffling compared to the fellow Austronesians...

Here's Jason Momoa (half-Samoan) with his bodyguards,

Maybe they consume a lot of fish in their diet, just look at Japanese how they can improve the height of their people by eating a lot of protein (particularly fish) just by several decades. On the other hand people in Indonesia eat many rice and little protein to fill their stomag.

Oya, have you watched Joker (movie) ??? Just finish watching it this night. Any comment on it ??, I think it is a good movie although there is part on it that I really dont like

I have thought about the usability of rollable screens in computers. There have been a few prototypes and I have posted two below the two points below this text and I have been enthusiastic about this tech. Though they look good I have realized two things :

1. They cannot be used in outdoors environment where there is dust, water, fog, oil in air ( in industrial settings ) etc. These external elements will get into the space from where the screen is being pulled out and enter the circuitry.

2. It will be inconvenient to write something into an application using a cell phone style virtual keypad or a handwriting-recognition / free-drawing system using a pen, because the rollable screen has to be held in pulled-out mode using both hands. This contrasts using a cell phone where both hands can type while holding the phone or in a tablet where one hand holds the tablet and the other can use the pen.

I think it is better to design a computer of the form-factor of slightly more than a cell phone but provides not a rollable but a foldable screen. Like in this device from BOE.

---

For contrast :

1. This article and vid about a rollable screen + cell phone called MagicScroll from Queen's University, Canada, from 2018. I post this vid just to demonstrate that a rollable screen can be afixed with a rollable touch screen for interaction too.

2. This vid about a rollable screen from BOE from 2020.

---

Your opinion ?
