What's new

Whatever

Yes, I believe those laws should be amended as they are in contradiction with clear Quranic injunctions

Pakistan's blasphemy laws may be called stricter than Quranic injunctions, but not necessarily contradictory. Besides, if a majority of the people support them, and they are enacted by due parliamentary processes, then they must be respected and implemented.

But let us keep this thread "light" as previously ordered. :D

......whoever kills a soul unless for a soul or for corruption [done] in the land - it is as if he had slain mankind entirely. ..... (5:32)

The Holy Qur'an forbids killing someone for any reason/crime other than (in retaliation of) Murder or Fasad ... Blasphemy/Hate-speech itself is not "Fasad fil Arz" (nor murder) ...

And this law was not enacted by due parliamentary process but by a notorious dictator who believed that Constitution was just a useless piece of paper .....

The right way, in my opinion, is to challenge Pakistan's Blasphemy Law in Federal Shariat Court, as the Constitution of Pakistan states that no law contrary to Holy Qur'an or Sunnah can be enacted in Islamic Republic of Pakistan

Sir, nobody can be allowed to corrupt the faith of the faithful in an Islamic Republic, for example by blasphemous content. So the "unless" exemption applies here.

Again, let us keep this thread light and fluffy as ordered. :D

Discuss what ?

I read the other comments on this thread, that's why asked if you are comfortable discussing further.

Pakistan's Blasphemy Laws ? ... Yes, I believe those laws should be amended as they are in contradiction with clear Quranic injunctions ... The Holy Qur'an clearly states that no one should be killed unless for murder or Fasad fil Arz (i.e. spreading mischief on Allah's land) ... The Holy Qur'an tells us to ignore and avoid blasphemers and leave it to Allah almighty to decide their fate ... Blasphemy itself is NOT "Fasad fil Arz' ... As for those few (often quoted) examples from the life time of Allah's messenger when a few blasphemers were killed on his orders, none of them was killed for uttering blasphemy, they were killed for inciting violence/waging war against Muslims , that is , spreading mischief on Allah's Earth ....

Well individually I don't believe that some petty human can insult ALLAH, HIS Messenger(s) (Peace be upon them) or Islam by mere telling lies or by quoting the lies written and designed centuries after passing of Messenger (Peace be upon him), the lies and hear say that sugar coat all the hatred they had in their hearts for Him (Peace be upon). To put it simply I can stand under the sky all day and throw insults at it but still I would succeed only to make a fool out of myself.

And who knows most pious of us Muslims may be committing blasphemy in guise of good deed(s).

If necessary for maintaining public order and peace, Blasphemy can be criminalized as "Hate Speech" in Pakistan, punishable by imprisonment (a life imprisonment for habitual offenders) ... But awarding death penalty to blasphemers (regardless of religion, intention, intensity etc.) is a violation of clear Quranic injunctions ...

This is where I differ. My personal views on this are that

Blasphemy charges and cases should be thoroughly investigated and punishments should be awarded accordingly.

  • There are people who go nuts and start talking crazy which in turn may offend a common person within a particular community or an area or region ........... such a person needs attention and rehabilitation not death penalty......................

  • A non Muslim normally commits blasphemy out of his ignorance or sometimes hate ......... this too happens in an area or a neighborhood.......... if such a person committed the offense out of his / her ignorance the punishment should be a fine ........ but if that person committed the offense knowingly just to hurt others he / she should be imprisoned for his / her crime .............. no death penalty

  • And for a person who makes false accusations and blames others for an offence they never committed he should be publicly flogged .......... but if this act was intended to create law and order situation, destruction of public property or incitement of violence against any community he / she should be punished enough so no other would dare again.

  • However, irrespective of one's faith and religion........ if a person commits blasphemy knowingly and intentionally with financial or other support from outsiders, corporate, organisations, or any group of persons....... at a level and through a medium that is public and would reach every nook and corner of the state and would hurt feelings of majority at a national and international level ............. he she should be charged for major criminal offence and punishment should be life time imprisonment or capital punishment (in case of a non living entity the directors, officers or admins should be held responsible) ............ the reason................. this act of his / her is clearly directed at majority ...... knowing very well that it would incite violence, create law and order situation and disrupt state business and bring bad name to the country.
Anyways thank you for your time ............
