What Will Pakistan-Saudi Arabia Ties Look Like Under Imran Khan?
By Samuel Ramani | August 24, 2018

Excerpt:

On August 9, Pakistan expressed support for Riyadh’s decision to suspend trade deals with Canada and expel Canadian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Dennis Horak. The Pakistani government defended Saudi Arabia’s actions, stating that Canada had violated the principle of noninterference by criticizing Riyadh for its decision to arrest human rights activist Samar Badawi. Six days later, Pakistan praised Mohammed bin Salman’s anti-corruption campaign, which has been widely criticized by human rights observers as a cynical ploy to subvert political challengers. These actions have strengthened trust between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, which was strained by Pakistan’s opposition to the Saudi-led blockade against Qatar.

During his visit to Saudi Arabia, Khan will likely reiterate these pro-Riyadh positions, as expressing support for Saudi Arabia will be viewed positively by his allies within the Pakistani military establishment. The Pakistani military has maintained robust intelligence cooperation with Saudi Arabia since 1967. Saudi Arabia’s former intelligence chief Prince Turki bin Sultan Al Saud famously described Saudi Arabia-Pakistan military cooperation as "probably one of the closest relationships in the world between any two countries."

This could be used to quell the kakki bassi & choor tubbar's deal known as LNG gas, LNG terminal which has absolutely no bearings. Then that is great.

Pakistan should do a hard reset with the Saudis, so far its been such a rollercoaster ride with them (makes sense given their subservience to uncle sam), and its hard to pinpoint where exactly they want to take Pak-Saudi relations in the future.

Start with the bare basics like trade agreements, and research programs; nothing crazy like a 4 billion "gift" or any other kind of major agreement.

In long run, simply Saudia will have to chose b/w Muslim Pakistan or Hindu India. Pakistan will however improve her relations with Iran n others as this is vital for the trajectory of the Foreign Policy Pakistan is following strategically and economically that is towards Asiatic countries.

IK meanwhile has said hasnt he that he will not tour anywhere for 3 months.

House of Saud in the end was build on the blood of Usmania Sultanat's soldiers by British 100 years ago.

Time is coming now where Allah will show his divine justice on this entire so called ''Arab Nationalism''

This Arab Nationalism is the actually core reason why now Muslim World is divided b/w Arabs n Non arabs.

This has to END! if we r to come back together and resurrect our Glorious past!

Saudi-Pak relations will grow deeper with every new government.

Iran will never make any kind of compromises on her relations with Hindustan for Pakistan (Rightly so, coz it's in her interest) then why should Pakistan compromise it's national interests for being Pro-Iran without any significant benefits? Pak-Iran relations can be improved to friendly neighbors from being neutral at this point without compromising Pakistan's strategic relations with KSA who stood with Pakistan most of times in troubled patches.

Multiple reasons;

1) the global order of the fast changing International Relations. Where lines r being drawn sides r being emerged just as in cold war era. One cant play with both ends.

2) Basically one has to decide whose camp they are in. We r in Chinese and they r in American. If they decide to join Chinese camp. We will welcome that.

We can no longer compromise on the benefits we get from China, and make her upset as she shown when she was what can be done in FATF.

Dude, China is one of biggest oil customer of both KSA & Iran, and Pakistan's trade with KSA is dwarf in front of KSA-China, Iran-China trade. So, your China angle doesn't hold any substance when China herself is eager to work with both. As far as FATF saga is concerned then I will repeat same which I said in other thread that we also ditched KSA on Syria & Yemen when KSA repeatedly asked for support because we looked for our interests.

this isnt that im implying either.....Economic relations will keep going with even America. Its just the strategic and wholesome economic trajectory of our country which is pivoted towards Asia.

And that wont change for nobody!

And no, we really didnt ditch them on syria/yemen. We still train them so is our army permanently stationed in Saudia. We even provide them ISR in their yemeni ops. We r neutral and will stay because our policy is always clear in such issues which r internal infighting amongst Muslim world ie neutrality and take them sit and talk to wave off their differences, like even IK has said.
