What is Turkish Army doing in Afghanistan?

.
You will invite your dearly brother armenia there..So Azerbaijan is not that stupid to join that "Eurasian Union"..But i am sure Russia, Armenia and Republic of Belarus will live happily after with that "Union" :D

Look, EU is gonna invite Bosnia and still Serbia want to join EU too. See how it works? Azerbaijan and Armenia will put aside their stupid kids games, and do what Russia will say to them :D

.
Ofcourse Azerbaijan will join that union they dont have any other option. By the way we should also consider it nothing wrong with it..

Do you really think Azerbaijan would join in a Union which Armenia is also a member? I dont think so..

And of course if Turkey and Russia are to be all equal partners why not? Not a bad idea

Do what Russia will say to them? So you see Azerbaijan and Armenia as not equal to you but as puppets or what? Is this your diplomacy?

NATO is the invader. India is aiding NATO. Any Muslim troops in Afghanistan should in fact be fighting NATO.

Good point. I wonder if they will stay, or leave as soon as they get a chance to, leaving the Afghans all by themselves.

Nope..We wont leave them alone..

Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said, "we will not leave Afghanistan alone."

Davutoglu said that they announced an "Istanbul process" foreseeing concrete mechanisms including comprehensive confidence building measures in regard to regional security and cooperation for Afghanistan.

Davutoglu and Afghan Foreign Minister Zalmay Rassoul held a press conference within the scope of the "Istanbul Conference for Afghanistan" in Istanbul.

"Istanbul process is about regional security and cooperation for a stable Afghanistan. It is not only a meeting. 11 ministers and 9 heads of delegation and representatives from nearly 10 international organizations committed that we will reconstruct Afghanistan by working together with regional and international actors and neighbors. We declared a package of confidence building measures for the areas such as education, economy, security and fight against terrorism," he said.

Countries would come together in Kabul in June 2012 with the process that was declared today, he said.

Davutoglu said that Turkey would keep extending every kind of support to Afghanistan for its peace, stability and tranquility.
He said restoring peace and stability in Afghanistan would be success of everyone.

A failure in Afghanistan would cause a regional instability, said Davutoglu.

He said that all international actors and organizations have been working for Afghanistan.

Replying to a question, Davutoglu said that they would make every kind of contribution to what was needed for restoration of peace in Afghanistan.

Turkey would be involved in every effort for peace, he added.

Afghan Foreign Minister Rassoul said that the confidence building measures package, which was revealed in Istanbul process, would render the measures in the region more effective.

The package will help us restoring security, stability and economic development in our region, said Rassoul

Noting that they would exert efforts to build regional cooperation and security together with Turkey, Rassoul said that the package would make the confidence building measures more effective in the region.

Recalling that a ministerial meeting would take place in Kabul in June, 2012, Rassoul said that they would see how confidence building measures had been implemented during that meeting.

Rassoul said that they welcomed the outcomes of the Istanbul Conference, adding that Afghans, too, were involved in the preparation of the document which was adopted in the conference, and the document satisfied Afghans.

bombed their cities ruthlessly

cool that you admit it.

Georgia, a NATO ally, supplied by quite upto date military hardwares.

Georgia isn't a NATO ally, it's not in NATO. it has close relations with some NATO countries. and it wasn't supplied with up to date weapons. the few it had was severally downgraded (like otokar cobra) and most of the equipment used against Russia was sam's from Soviet time and soviet weapons. only after the war did Georgia start to reform their armed forces.

While some members here compare this with fighting irregular, ragtag PKK rebels and that too for a period of 2 months.

haha even the all mighty US army tried to avoid conflicts with pkk, why? because the area we are fighting is the worlds hardest place to win against terrorism. mountains and nothing else. you really compare that to some army that has zero experience and outdated weapons from soviet time? if countries like yours hadn't supported them in the first place there wouldn't be such a thing.

a conventional war is much more easier than guerilla war. why do you think countries like Cuba adopted Guerilla tactic and train their soldiers in that? because they know they can't fight USA head to head.

why do you think USA lost soldiers after invading Iraq in less than 10 days? because Guerilla tactics work.

The entry of Turkey into the European Union has in the past, so she needs to find its place in the new, Eurasian Union considers Russia’s State Duma, political analyst Sergei Markov.

In an interview with the Turkish agency “Cihan” Markov recalled that the Prime Minister of Russia Vladimir Putin came up with the idea to create a Eurasian Union, which had invited Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Moldova and other countries. “I believe that Turkey should also be part of this Alliance,” he said. Markov believed that the Eurasian Union “should become the Turkic-Slavic and Orthodox Muslim”.

“Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan has not only relationships, but also personal friendship, and these two leaders of the world will strengthen this Alliance. I think that Russia and Turkey in the twenty-first century must work together, “added the Russian parliamentarian.

can't be, since they are far from each other. Greece doesn't have a base close to Camp Dogan. IIRC they operate in the Airport of the capital.

look what i found in zaman.

he Associated Press reported that a NATO base known as Camp Warehouse on the outskirts of Kabul was also targeted and that Turkish and Greek forces at a nearby Greek-Turkish base were responding with heavy-caliber machine gun fire.
