PAF Goliath

PAF has chosen a Goliath as their next generation armoured transporter to be used for pilot rescue behind enemy lines.
This behemoth is impervious to AP rounds of upto 120 mm including sabots and Heat rounds due to its nano-steel reinforced body. This reinforced armour is surprisingly light and doesn’t make it heavier and because it is meant to fly at almost terrain hugging altitude to avoid detection from enemy radar it can come under fire from hostile artillery fire. It has the ability to hover over an area and is equipped with ample weapons to provide covering fire and destroy the enemy during evacuation.
The PAF commandos will descend and form a protective circle upon locating the pilot and will pick him up and use the jump jets to return back to the floating transporter if there is not enough room to land.

The high speed and low flight with very low noise will ensure a speedy and successful recovery and if the enemy is stupid enough to come in the way then the gunner or the pilot can make the short work of him with the on board weapons.
The PAF is so impressed with the career that it calls it its own flying tank.

Passenger capacity: 20 special forces personel, including medic and an on board doctor plus 20,000 Kg cargo
Max speed: 500 knots or 575 mph, cruising speed 460 knots.
Ferri range: 2500 miles

Armament: 70 mm rapid fire twin barrel laser guided grenade launchers on either side. 30mm auto cannons on either side on the front. The auto cannons fire depleted uranium armour piercing cyanide dipped rounds.
Countermeasures: the carrier comes with a Gatling gun that is able to fire 4000 rounds per minute at the incoming missile and has independent guidance system and is fully autonomous. In an unlikely event if the incoming projectile manages to evade the Gatling gun then it is equipped with smart flares & chaffs that come with proximity fuse and homing system enabling them to move towards the target instead of just falling down . the passive armour can take care of any thing else.

IB I think that is a bit too fictional.. but here is something that is not.


Bell/Boeing MV-22 Osprey Pakistan Army Aviation:

After realizing that the Sa-330 Pumas were nearing the end of their service life and a new longer range quick response airborne element was required to counter both conventional and terror threats; the MoD sent a request to the US FMS department for the purchase of 18 MV-22 Osprey aircraft with a further 6 to be acquired by the PAF.
After gaining approval by emphasising the effectiveness of the aircraft in anti terror operations especially on the new threats from the now antagonized Lashkar-e-Jhangvi the finances were arranged through the good graces of Pakistani Real Estate Mogul Malik Riaz Hussain through a deal for burying evidence against his property scam.
The first examples were delivered to 9 (Composite) Army Aviation Squadron based at Peshawar.

The Pakistan army has now renewed it's relations with the US, and in light of these good relations, the US also agreed to the sale of V-22 ospreys. The experience went well for PAA, albeit the operating costs for the V-22's proved a bit on the high side. PAA still needed to phase out the majority of the Puma fleet, and considering the high costs of the V-22 osprey, went for battle-proven Sikorsky UH-60 Blackhawk, totaling 20 in number for 350 million $ (through CSF), to be delivered in 4 batches of 5 spread over 3 years, beginning the following year. A further add-on option for 8 UH-60's for for 140 million $ is also included in the contract, although 2 helicopters will be used.

Okay....Heres my first one.In the late 90s,the German airforce decided to retire all of their F-4F Phantom II aircraft.Since nobody was interested in the airframes,it was decided to strip the aircraft down and to use the airframes for spares only.The PAF was offered the Phantom's J-79 engine.India as usual started crying at the simple thought of it but the Germans argued that such a small sale would not hurt India in anyway.The engines were fitted in the PAF's Mirage-5 PA2/3 aircraft(even though the French detested their aircraft being modified) at PAC Kamra and were then test flown by the CCS at Sargodha.

The new engines coupled with the Mirage's light airframe gave a real boost in maneuverability and over all flight performance.Due to this feeling of superiority,a pair of newly commisioned pilots tried to engage a pair of IAF Mig-21 Bisons near Lahore which they eventually chased away after engaging them inside Indian territory.(The skin in the last photo is my own work for the SF2 series.It will be available for download in a few days at combatace.com).
