What caused overpopulation in Pakistan?

Personally I think having a large population is a blessing.

Look at China, they are rising because of their large human resources.

Look at Japan and their problems of a shrinking population.

Pakistan’s population is levelling out, the proverb not to cry over spilled milk comes to mind.
Use the population dividend, many nations are now dying out due to lack of people, just look at Europe. Also no nation on this earth is anywhere near the level of automation required to support population reduction and then look after a larger older population. Best guesses put us at least 70 years away.
By that time for many nations it will be a case of let the last person behind put the light out.
Exactly my point. A nation or society survives by its human resources.

Europe endured a demographic disruption during the first and Second World Wars. What Europe is suffering from most is population imbalance and demographic gap.

Fallacy statement. It leaves out the fact that China is one of the world's largest countries, Pakistan is not.

Industrialization is not the solution as it requires too much resource consumption and pollution. We need to stop this madness before it results in irreversible ecological destruction.

Lack of a social safety net.
People see children as their safety net in old age, so the more the better, just in case.

If the country had a proper social security mechanism to care for old people, then people would produce fewer children.
Yeah lol no

We are a poor country, for a poor country our people are already too spoiled

Too much f**king, not enough contraception caused overpopulation in Pakistan.

People are drawn to f**king when their bodies are enriched with calories which is what our fertile lands provide. How did the Baloch miss out?

Even animal populations grow & decline according to their food supply.

Pakistan is mostly dry and sandy due to massive water mismanagement. Most of our water goes to waste and drains into Arabian Sea. If we build a huge canal parallel to Indus in Balochistan and divert the overflows there, we can make it arable. Plus more reservoirs and dams will do the trick in KP and northern areas.

Well I politely disagree with your opinion.

The larger your population, the larger your economy is.

And the worse your environment is and the less your natural resources are and the more destroyed your ecology is. Great "logic" in your fallacious argument.

Okay that is your perspective.

Larger population = larger economy

Larger population means more consumers = larger economy.

Your opinion is your while my opinion is mine.

Why do you think the West does a lot of trade with India.
Because its a large consumer market.

No Punjab and Sindh have been arable since the Bronze Age; hence we are home to one of the oldest known civilizations on Earth.

By irrigating the drier lands, we destroy the desert ecology and also increase the population. More food=more people. Less food=less people.

No food=no people.

This is not about perspective but fact vs delusion. India is a gutter with the world's largest poor population because it has too many people which in turn is because it has too much fertile land.

We don't need large economies as they are harmful to the environment and what happens to the environment affects us.

We need less pollution, less materialism, less production by having less people and more natural environment.

Smaller economies are sustainable and more harmonious with the environment.

Industrialization is the key. In fact, it pretty much works like a contraception. EVERY single industrialized (read developed) society regardless of culture, ethnicity, religion, geography proves this point. You can't argue against empiricism.

Job opportunities are limited, it’s the the lower income trap; have lots of kids so they can support you in your older years, but it is highly unlikely you will find a way out of poverty.

There needs to be a dramatic shift in job opportunities for people to feel stable enough to give up one strategy and shift towards another strategy.

Cost of living is also relatively low enough that people can afford to have many kids, even if they can’t provide for them fully. The danger is that the danger of a mass die off or exodus (if possible) if highly likely if the equilibrium is disrupted as was seen with the Irish Potato Famine.

Too much industrialization= pollution= resource depletion= environmental destruction. We need less people and less industrialization to live in harmony with the environment.

Having no electricity is the biggest reason. As food is the number one source of entertainment in Pakistan, the second-biggest source of entertainment would be S*x.
