My intentions for this thread is not to create/cause animosity or hatred between the two PDF communities. I would like to know how Pakistan is perceived by the Bangali population? I'm aware in the west, SouthAsians tolerate eachother, forming a respectable coexistence built on a shared cultural landscape and ofcors Cricket and food. Im refering to the thoughts, feelings and opinions of residents of Bangladesh. In recent years social media has created a platform for south Asians, in particular Indians and Pakistanis to interact with eachother and dismiss certain asupmtions and stereotypes. However there is very little between Pakistanis and Bangladeshis apart from one YouTube video i came across
Of three young Pakistanis sharing their opinions and reactions on hearing the national anthem of Bangladesh. Many of the Bengali commentators deeply appreciated their efforts. Again my intention is not to stir hatred at eachother its just a case of curiosity perhaps.

Anyway, most people recognize Pakistan as an old enemy, not a current one. I wouldn't say most people have a favorable opinion on the Pakistani government, but they bear little ill will towards the people. They remember the events of 1971 but alas since it's been almost 50 years since then, the newer generation is not as emotional of it as the older generations were. Do note that BD is still predominately Muslim so there are people that sees Pakistan as a "brotherly Muslim" country. At the same time of course, based on historical events many do not share this opinion and view Pakistan in general with contempt.

Main problem in South Asia is its bad politics. I don't think average Bangladeshis hate or love Pakistan. They are busy with their own everyday life.

Rather average Pakistani is indifferent at best.. for them it neither exists nor a significant entity to think on day to day basis...when was the last time Bd was discussed by your friends or family members...most probably never..
So Pakistanis, on the whole, are either neutral or think positively of the Bd people since both are Muslims.

Present Pakistan is totally irrelevant to us. We r busy with our own lives.

well that would apply for every single country except just maybe a couple. But a better judgement would be if someone asks you about the people of a certain country and you have to think about how you feel about them, for example if someone asks me what do you think about people from Azerbaijan or even Turkey, hardly anyone would be discussing these countries on a day to day basis, but we still hold positive views about them.

They all hate Pakistan, young. old. new born to be born the whole fcukin lot! I personally do not talk to them deal with them or do any kind of business with them. what happened in 1971 was very unfortunate where civilians on both side suffered.

Most Pakistanis are indifferent to B'desh. It neither exists nor exists for us. It's as much of a concern for us as is Brunei.

Well, you can't compare our relations with Bd to Pak-Turkey relations. For Turks, if someone asks me, I have only positive things to say and I won't need to think. However talking about Bd, I would have to think and my answer will be positive but perhaps not as enthusiastic and I may need to qualify my answer.

In present times average Bangladeshis's don't concern themselves much except feeling sad when they hear news about bomb blasts in pak. a certain group of politicians would keep the past hatreds alive. Call me crazy but me personally, i would prefer much closer & friendlier relation between BD-IND-PAK.

Hmm not true...they have some hate due to the history but also love because of the religion. History will recede into the past with time but the religious love will stay..

LOL, why do u think that ppl will call u crazy for preferring a CLOSE and FRIENDLY relationship between BD-IND-PAK? Any sane person would want the same.

And I do not agree with ur second point. Why would a certain group of politicians (perhaps u were referring to BAL here) want to keep the hatred alive. What will they gain from it.

Bangladesh has only two major political parties and the former leaders of both of these parties played crucial roles in our liberation war.
