WASHINGTON: Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan assured the Kashmiri and Pakistani American community that Kashmiris “will not give India the opportunity to present our struggle for freedom as terrorism”.

While addressing a Pakistani community event at the Pakistan Embassy in Washington DC on Monday night, Khan added, “We will guard our borders and ensure no terrorism generates from our side – we will never allow this.” He rebutted India’s allegations of Kashmiri terrorism; insisting Kashmiris advocated for a “peaceful struggle” for freedom. “There is no place for terrorism in our strategy,” he stressed. “We are on a higher moral ground.”

He said previously Kashmiris had been mislabelled as terrorists as they fought for their occupied land.

Khan said, “Why allow ourselves to be labelled incorrectly again, to be called terrorists. In the past we have been unfairly labelled.” He said this in reference to India’s assertions that Kashmiris defending their rights were terrorists. Moving forward, he said, “There is no alternative for a peaceful struggle.” He insisted that the Kashmiri resistance to India’s occupation was non-violent.

Khan highlighted that during the joint press briefing by India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Donald Trump, Modi’s repudiation to Trump’s offer for mediation revealed India’s objective for India’s Kashmir occupation, “Modi said since I947 Pakistan and Indian were one country and did not require outside mediation… which shows his real mind-set… that India wishes to reduce Pakistan, reduce Pakistan’s authority in the region so it’s subservient to India.”

He added, “India want to change the demographic of the Muslim-majority state which tantamount to a violation of international conventions and UNSC resolutions.”

He urged the Pakistani Kashmiri Americans to get involved to support the cause by writing to their lawmakers to garner international support.Khan stressed, “We will perish or we will free ourselves from Indian occupation.”

Dr Khan added, “The Simla Agreement stated that Kashmir status would not be changed, but they have changed it; India is making up its own laws and regulations.”

Dr Khan described the huge diplomatic efforts underway to gather support for Kashmir and urged the Kashmiri Americans and Pakistani Americans to continue to highlight the cause within their constituents. “The Kashmiri people need your help too,” he said.

But he remained optimistic by saying, “Even in badness there is goodness.”

“What Modi did on the 5th August internationalised the Kashmir issue – whether Modi liked it or not – he shone a light on the Kashmir issue that benefits Pakistan.” However, he warned the disadvantage with the conflict is Pakistan’s inevitable involvement, which leads to increased tensions and negative reverberations for the South Asia region.

He explained, “India’s Kashmir occupation impacts Pakistan which leads to an Indian-Pakistan dispute and that impacts the international community who must help to prevent this becoming a problem for the region.”

Khan denied recent speculation that Pakistan would resort to the use of nuclear weapons. He said, “What we did say if AJK is attacked we will respond accordingly.”

He lauded the Pakistan government’s efforts by saying, “The Pakistan government in the last 72 years has always worked hard to support the Kashmir cause – but we still need more work done.”

I seriously want to ask the establishment of Pakistan this simple question.

Since when Kashmiri struggle against the Indian ILLEGAL occupation and oppression , be it peaceful or though the barrel of gun, becomes terrorism?

Are we fking selling Indian narrative in our own backyard?

The narrative must belong to the kashmiri people.

Nothing else can work at this point.

Pakistan should be reminded what India did during 71 Fiasco.
a, Mujib declared independence for BD in March 1971
b, Established Mukti Bahini to fight Pakistan
c, Constituted Govt in Exile in India
d, India recognized BD Govt in Exile
e, India militarily supported establishment of BD in December 1971

What is hindering Kashmiri/Hurriat leadership from declaring their independence and establishment of their liberation army. Why they are begging India for independence.

Pakistani Government is also not taking necessary practical measures apart from narrative building and tweeting. US took a number of legal measures against Iran which guide us what actions Pakistan may take.
a, US sanctioned Iranian Supreme Leader and Foreign Minister
b, Declared Iranian allies like Lebanese, Yemeni and others as terrorists
c, Declared Pasdaran Inqlab as Terror outfit

Following US, Pakistan may take following measures:
a, Declare RSS and affiliated organizations like VHP, Bajranj Dal, RamSena etc as Terrorist & Fascists
b, Initiate legal case against bombing of Samjhota Express bombing and issue warrant for arrest of culprits like Col Prohit & other accused
c, Declare Indian Army & Paramilitaries as Terrorist organizations

By declaring Indian outfits as Terrorists and recognizing Kashmiri Independence, Pakistan can effectively provide support for Kashmiri people.

This happens when you rattafy CSS books and become a bureaucrat. No understanding of statecraft.

What we have now are likes of Bajwa and Kayani. They are way too pacifist. Absence of Hamid Gul and Asad Durrani is immensely felt. I hope Zaid Hamid is taken as NSA otherwise these pacifist will sink Pakistan.

For this , you need a spine and no fear of Death. Current leadership of political , civil and military lacks this.

The only LEGAL document for accession of Kashmir has India written on it.

So if we go by rules of partition, any illegality that exists, is on the Pakistani side of Kashmir.

Anytime any gangu talks about instrument of accession.. Show them this.

What a retarded statement at a crucial point in Kashmiri struggle for freedom

Shouldn’t have given it up that easily.
You didn’t fight for it.
We fought for Kashmir and are continuing to do so.

Legally, yes Junagadh acceded to Pakistan and should have gone to Pak. Pakistan just gave up claim without putting up a fight. Now it’s too late.

Don’t cry now.

You see. I just wanted you to say it so next time you don't bring bogus instrument of accession gimmick on kashmir issue . The war continues.

AJK PM is in US, what do you expect him to say? Either start war or keep protesting. Sending and harbouring terrorists is waste of time. Pakistan already learned its lesson. These terrorists bite back the ones who feed them like snakes.

Now because of past mistakes India will try to use that against Pakistan when Kashmiris eventually strike back against occupied forces. This is where efforts should be put against Indian propaganda. World is already taking note of this as all militants in IoK in last few years are of Kashmiri origin and not from Pakistan.

Its not same, because majority hindus of Junagadh were against joining Pakistan. While Abdullah Sheikh was the one who joined India. Lets not go there. Lets keep our head in sand and believe muslim Kashmiris wanted to become part of Pakistan.

Of course, the war between Hindus and Muslims of subcontinent continues. It was a delusion that the issue was settled in 1947.
